When Roses Turn White

This is my first post here. I hope to have a good start :)
There are things a man should flee from
There are things one must forget
The past is wise to learn from
But it's also stupid to live by it
Roses were once colored crimson
of hues of purplish red
A princess who slept in a mansion
A princess of laughter she shed
But then of years she realized
What golden cage she's in
She was held in a cage, paralyzed
Freedom she can't really feel
She tried to break free from that prison
When the castle reached its fall
She flew so high, lost her reason
She lost all of her control
She fell, it almost killed her
Then a pauper gave her aid
He took a vial for her
She listened to what he said
The next day the royal guards saw her
They took her and brought her with thee
Her soul is again locked, mouth covered
But her mind and heart stayed free.

Good poem and a good start at mylot. Although, i am not sure if mylot allows users to post poems though.
I too write poems. I hope you maintain a blog about your poems. Did you write this on your own?
