Too expensive to study abroad

Hi everyone! :) I'm thinking of extending my studies abroad. Just a thought, anyway! I am searching around the internet and I found out that it's very expensive to support yourself if you study abroad, the school and living cost, itself (anywhere in the world)... It'd be a bit easier for someone to study abroad if he/she has a sponsor or a scholar! I was talking with someone I know that is working for an Australian company and I saw at their website that they offer Student Visa to the Australia. I asked her opinions and she said straight to me that it is indeed very expensive for me to study there or anywhere if I do not have a sponsor. The school's tuition costs around $40,000 AUD per semester and if converted into our currency, it cost almost 1.5 Million pesos. But seriously, I really wanted to take another level of education. But again, that won't happen if I don't have the amount or the sponsor. So, that might take a little while for me achieve! Hard work is always a must!!!!!!!

my lady, Of course it takes a lot of money to achieve your dream. I have an Indian friend who dreamed of studying either in Australia or in the US, but due to the cost of education, living allowance and personal expenses- her parents send her back to India for her education. I can say that her family belongs to above average here in our country (yes, they are living here in Manila her father is a Pharma Consultant) To think that she (my Indian friend) is a bright student. She graduated from IS with flying colors. She passed a series of scholarship exams in Singapore too- but still, the cost of living is the biggest part of it that her parents can't sustain. Money really matters....

It is good to have such a motivation to extend your studies. :) My brother did that as well, he went to Canada, and yes the living cost is expensive, but it is fortunate of him that he got a scholarship and my parents can afford to pay the rest of the required costs. He also worked part time there and that adds up for his allowances. Do not give up, keep searching for scholarships. My friends obtained many scholarships and she always says that scholarship is actually not given to the smartest, but most often it is given to those people who could find the right timing and opportunity. Anyway, good luck, ans wish you all the best for your education :)

Wow! Good for your brother and the rest of your family! That's the true dedication. Of course, having part time jobs can help the students too. Thank you and of course, I won't give up looking for a sponsor! :)

Logically, my friend, it is indeed so expensive to study abroad. So, in order that you will be able to have it, you have to look for sponsorship. I have a cousin-in-law who works for the government. He has been working abroad as sponsored by the government. Now, one of his children who graduated from UP is also a scholar for her doctorate studies at the country where he is right now. They are both geologists or something like that.

Yes, they all are - The mother, the Father and the 2 daughters. The mother because her husband had a scholarship in the Netherlands also applied for a scholarship abroad. She seems would like to convey that she can do what her husband can do also. After how many years, she separated from him, though he is already abroad working and at the same time studying still. Sad, how pride can consume a relationship.

Hi my friend. I decided to just continue my studies here in our country and if I'm lucky find a job and a sponsor at the same time for me to be able to earn an international degree. Wow! They must be really smart!

edsss Yes. nowadays college education abroad is very costly. it was costly earlier also but the students were getting a lot of scholarship. Now scholarships have come down and that is why this problem. A few who manage to go with their own money reach Australia and then work in petrol pumps, hotels part time and study further, I suggest you get a job in your own place and if you work well possibly you may get posted abroad for work. good day.

I appreciate students who study and also work and not waste their time in parties and sight seeing tours. Cost of living is going up as also the cost of education. I can understand your problems in making both ends meet. Be confident. develop your communication skill and am sure you will get a good placement after completion of degree.

Hi ravisivan Yes, that's true. Even in my own country, going to college is costly too. Well, I'm working and I will strive harder to be able to achieve my plans. Thanks! :)

For me, I find it a waste of time going to parties and tours. Aside from I am not really a party animal, I just really hate going to something with a lot of people and showing off new dress, expensive jewelries and stuffs... The time I'll spend doing that, I prefer working on those times and I can possibly see a great thing ahead of me! :)

An international degree will make your Curriculum Vitae very attractive to employers. But as you said, it is really expensive to study abroad. The tuition fee and accommodation costs can't be affordable to ordinary people. You must be moneyed enough to achieve that goal unless you have a Sponsor. If you have no money and no Sponsor either then your dream of getting an international degree will remain just a dream forever.

Well, that's my goal actually that's why I am thinking of getting an international degree but its not as easy as I thought it is. Guess I have to work hard to be able to afford that and if I am lucky, I might find a sponsor.

Hi edsss It's very costly in studying abroad. If I were you continue your studies in your country and find a job after graduation to gain experience and money. Then you may reach any country you want :)
