If you were offered a spot in the "Miss Universe" competition would you want to compete? Myself I wouldn't. I'm a pretty shy person and I wouldn't feel comfortable walking around on stage knowing that everyone was watching me and judging me, even if I felt beautiful this would still make me feel uneasy. What are your thoughts with it?

It's not for everyone, that's for sure. I think everyone is beautiful in their own way, and the Miss Universe contestants are not necessarily THE most beautiful, it's just that they're the ones who WANTS to enter the competition. I wouldn't feel comfortable entering the competition either, for many reasons, nor do I feel the need to. But it can be fun, I suppose :)

Lynnes- with such a beautiful answer like that I think that you'd do well with the questions that the contestants are presented with by the judges in the competition!

Thank you :) And I'm going to be completely cheesy and corny right now, and say that everyone's a Miss Universe, or Mr. Universe if they feel beautiful inside from the character growth they've managed for themselves :D By which I mean, kind, generous, positive, encouraging etc. :D

If I had the perfect body and not an inch of me is something to be insecure about, then why not? However, I don't like the thought that guys somewhere wouldn't not be looking at me but my body, my curves, and even imagine me doing something to him!? That's just horrifying. I think I'd rather be the Miss Universe of my husband. hehe.. Further, I heard that there's a lot of backstage competition as well. And these girls are said to be pros since they've done a lot of competitions prior to joining that Pageant. Anyhow, I think they look gorgeous, but the point of it all is no longer there. I think there's no more point of these competitions when the contestants are no longer natives of the country they represent. Heck, most of these women have even undergone treatments and surgeries to enhance their beauty. There even came a point of stating that people who have undergone gender transplant should be allowed to join. I think it defies the whole point of the Miss Universe. Therefore, the playing field is no longer fair. I say don't allow women (or men) to join who isn't a native of the country they represent, and those who has undergone treatment and surgeries. Hehehhe.. But yeah, I don't think I would join. Have a great mylot experience ahead!

Yes it would just be the thought of being gawked at that would make me feel uneasy. I think if we had the rule of no treatments or surgeries, we would have a very different looking gang of girls compared to what we have now to be honest lol.

Now if that happened, the judges will have a difficult way of judging because girls would be different - and if they vote according to their taste perhaps it'll lead to discrimination. hahaha

Haha you have a good point there. I have to wonder if as many people would watch if there were more realistic looking women on there who have had no work done on their faces/bodies.

Intelligence, Caring and Confidence is the key when you enter the world of beauty pageant.. Have faith in yourself, if you have the body, the looks, the guts and confidence..then as what nike always say "JUST DO IT"..

Yes, it's just a more unique and blunt way of wording "we find ways"...JUST DO IT!

Well , if i have the body, brains and beauty, why not ? If one is a beauty aside from being brainy, she shouldn't hide it because it is meant to be admired. And one way of showing it legally , is through the "MIss Universe" competition.

I can just imagine the adrenaline rush as you're walking to the beat of the music in a sexy outfit stomping to the beat of the music, if you feel comfortable it would be an amazing feeling that's for sure.

Well my friend, i always feel like a Miss Universe, whenever i am in my skinny jeans , blouse , complete with a blazer , bag and stilletos, going to our office. That's because i feel confident of myself.

I like that, "confidence"; it's in the way you carry yourself ;). I have a friend, over 100 pounds, who accepts no criticism from anyone who tries to put down her looks, and everyday she dresses and walks like she owns the world: confidently, and accepting herself. I admire her so much, and I think she's one of the most beautiful person I've ever seen. It helps that she's also one of the nicest and most generous people I know :) You find Miss Universes everywhere, most of them don't walk the catwalk or parade on stage...not that I'm criticizing the ones who do, mind you :)

I am also a pretty shy person so just like you, I wouldn't want to join the competition. I don't think I would want that kind of attention. Receiving a compliment about my beauty from my significant other is the only thing I needed. Each time he praises me, I feel that I've already won a pageant.

That's nice that your husband is able to make you feel so great with his praises, indeed that's how it should be! Who needs a competiton if you're already satisfied and feeling great?

If I was offered a spot in the Miss Universe competition, I would definitely compete. I already think I'm the center of the universe anyway!!...just kidding, but seriously, YES, I would compete. I'm sure that all of those women that are on stage are nervous, some may be more nervous than others, but they probably all have some degree of nervousness going on. Being offered a spot in the Miss Universe competition is a compliment, I would totally do it.

Oh I totally agree, just being offered the position would be a huge compliment in itself and totally flattering. What part of the competition ( if any) would you be nervous about?

If i was thin and tall, I would have done it because i am not a shy person otherwise. It would have different scenario only. I think i would like to take part as i am someone who like competitions. I do hard work and i am creative. I think you just need to focus and then have a very high self esteem and will power. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

I think the most important thing with a competition like that is selfesteem. Those girls walk like they own that whole place, like they are on a mission. I love watching them, it's like they are stomping to the beat of the background music..lol
