I am a freshman. Yeah, I'm having a hard time achieving high scores at exams and quizzes. I think that's a symptom that I should maybe shift to another course? But I am happy with my classmates though.SO I don't know what to do really. :( Please help me.

Hi cessybear,I would like to say to you that nothing is easy or difficult in this world.Subjects that we learn and understand are easy for us whereas the same subjects are difficult for those who don't understand them.In fact, the words 'easy' and 'difficult' are misnomers. One thing which is easy for you may be difficult for your friend or somebody else.I would like to suggest you to think whether you are interested in your course or not.If you are interested, then continue with it and try to understand no matter how hard you have to work. And if you are not interested in it,then leave it and opt for another course.

Yes, I'm interested to it though, I like our future role in the society. By the way, the course I'm taking up is AB Communication Research. I really can't decide what to do, this is not my first choice. And we have already spent a lot of money in the first semester. I think my mom would feel bad about that if I will shift to another course.

So were you forced by your mom to take this course.Excuse me,but I think, parents should not force their wards to take a particular course. It should be left to the students to decide what they want to read. Now that you have already spent a lot of time and money in the first semester, you'd better start taking more interest in this course.

I suggest that you better start scouting for another course that will suit you. Staying even when you are struggling because of friends won't be good for you. The earlier you shift gears, the better. You will save money and time that way. Good luck to you.

I took a test in my previous school and it says I should be in the field of communication and socialization, and I was a campus journalist there. I thought those two factors were enough to take this course, (AB Communication Research) but I never thought it will be this hard. My grades during high school were satisfactory, but now.. it is not.

was this the course you wanted in the first place? i wonder that you are still in your first year and usually in the first year, subjects are really the easiest and these are minor subjects which all courses would have taken too. it can get harder as you go along...

The secret of getting high score in exam is to study hard. Just review your notes every night, after and before the class. Even during your teacher going out...try to refresh what he/she lecture...
Even go to school read your books regarding the subject that you can't understand. Don't hesitate to ask question...

Hi friend, welcome to mylot. First of all you must take your interested course for your education, if you are not interested in your course, it is really hard to shine in your education as well as life. Don't fear about the lessons and exams, be confident about you and learn your lesson with your full focus, surely you will get a good mark based on your understanding and interest. Don't think about changing the course. Achieve a lot with your present course. Be optimist and think positively. All the best for your studies

You are still young and fresh... If your grades are disgracing you. Its time to make changes, change the way u spend your time studying, how you study, who you study with and when you study. And if you have friends from other classes its a little negative. You need friends or people who can help you when you are stuck.. Tell the teacher or lecturer that you dont get it. Get a tutor from one of the senior students to help you master everything, after all, theyve been through that.
Best of luck!

Have you tried getting a tutor to help you or maybe asking your friends to help you out? I know that having a study group helps you out and it allows you to learn from each other. Is the course itself interesting and something you want to pursue or is it a class that is required for general courses? You should not take a class just because you like your classmates you need to find out what you like and what will make you happy.

This is really tough. I'm also a student like you. I have a similar situation and now I'm shifting to a different course. Ask yourself what you really want. Are you being for ced on the course? DO you really want it? Just think of where you really excel. That might help. SOmetimes it's difficult to know whether you really love the course you're taking. You'll know it if you start applying wha tyou learned in class in real life. That's just my opinion. Happy mylotting!

I think you better assess yourself on which academic or field you ate good in so you can decide what course you are going to take if ever you have to shift. It is really important to knwo what we wanted so that any course we will take will be beneficial and so helpful in the end.
Good luck and I do hope that you come up with the right decision. Just keep praying.

I am a junior now. And,to be honest,I hate my major, electrical engineering and automation.I often regret not changing my professional on my freshmanyear. Now it is very terrible. But I never give up what I like.I have been studying the disciplines I like while studying my specialty. So,I want you to choose what you like most.I hope this can help you.

From my point of view, you should choose what you are interested in, otherwise, you will have to tolerate those boring courses. I do not think it is a good idea to learn without interest. As for your classmates, you can keep in touch with them whenever you miss them. Besides, you can also make many new friends who have commom interest with you.

what keeps you in that course? how do you manage your subjects? whose choice is that course anyway? how do you see yourself after your graduation? where's that course going to land you? can you afford that course? just some of the things you might want to consider about your course. if it's because you have friends in that course, think it over, can you not be friends even if you have a different course? will you not meet new friends too if you decided to take up another course? think it over. :)

First, you must remember that you have inherent target to pass your course. So, this is more important than a friend. In your case now, you have 2 choices. First, continue your current lesson and get help from friend to make you able to catch up with the course as you said you happy with them. But you really have to work hard.
Secondly, change to the easier course that suite your knowledge. You can know what subject you good in and go for course that relevant to this subject. I'm sure you can goes through the course without a complaint.

Hi cessybear! You have to make sure what would you like to do after college and have the course related to it. You can still choose the course you want because you are just starting.

What course are you taking? If I am in your shoes, I will probably study hard if I really want that course because shifting courses can prolong your studies. Some subjects cannot be credited. And also you just said that you are happy being with your classmates so you should not worry if they are also studying hard. They are influences that should be tolerated when you are at the college level.

Freshmen years, are the most tough years in College life since you need to adjust on the lifestlye in College... There is no college course that is not difficult, we all experience the same thing. The more harder, the more you learn from it. What you are experiencing is just the first level, imagine the worse when you will have your junior and senior years in College that's the most difficult time...
I suggest, you observe this semester. If you're really having a difficult time coping up academically, well. that's the time you would probably settling to search for another college courses. A tip though, look for a college course that you find you fit in and that you have interest-in not just taking up a college course becuase it's a fad or you have friends that has the same course.

I think all courses are both easy-hard but in different sense.. A course turns out to be easy if it interest you a lot.. So the fact that you're having hard time with your course now, i don't wanna pre-judge you but you might not be interested enough and just staying there because of your friends.. Aside from scouting, at least do a self-reflection of what you really wanna do. Do you like to draw? Are you fond with kids? Do you like to care for people? and etc-- with those you might be able to find the answer.. Goodluck :)

Back during my senior years of our high school years, our guidance councilor held an examination for us. This is in order for them to analyze the best courses that will fit the student. Three courses will be suggested and its up to the student to choose. Maybe you need to assess yourself and know your interest.
