Practice makes perfect, so they say. I always use recipes and even sometimes by following a recipe it can still turn out bad. A lot of times I use generic brand ingredients and some times that can make a difference. I've also heard that altitude, humidity and even the mood you're in can make a difference. But I always cook and hope for the best and sometimes it will come out great the first time and the next time it won't. I've also learned that when I use or substitute for something it makes a difference, so just keep on practicing and start out with something simple and work your way up. Bon apetite!

Yes, but those simple things are the basics to make you a gourmet cook!Once you get the basics down, then you can experiment, but at least you've learned the basics. You can add to the basics and eventually have confidence in yourself. Soon, you'll be experimenting and then you'll come up with something extravagant and then when people compliment you, you can say,"Thank-you, it was just something I whipped up."

As mentioned, cooking is one of those skills in which practice makes perfect. It may help if you can have someone who is able to make a dish fantastically be with you and cook with you while you are attempting the dish to perhaps pick up on any errors. I guess when you are starting out it may be best to try and follow a recipe (and/or video) as closely as possible, and work from there. All the best!

hmm actually what i really don't want in cooking is the oil in the the pan.. (especially if its not a non stick pan) I tend to get scared when the oil bubbles and popped o

Absolutely powerpuffgirls, you should do some more practice. Cook everyday with different recipes, eventually you get the right taste and of your food.
Try to buy some recipe books for your guide or ask some expert in kitchen cooking, friends or relatives or even professionals. It will be a very nice feeling of you can get compliments from people who tasted your food, whenever you done one recipe.
I grew up with the people who loves to cook that's why i was been gifted to have a delicious result of of my food after cooking it. Right ingredients, enough amount of seasoning and time duration is the secret to success of your cooking:)
Don't lose hope, one more tip when you cook make sure you don't put too much salt before the food is boiled or cooked. Whenever food is ready you can always add salt, pepper etc. but if it's already over seasoned it will be difficult to redo to get a good result.
Hope this helped:) good day:)

In the past, when I was younger, I also am a walking disaster when it comes to cooking. But after years of practice (yep, practice makes perfect, well almost :)) I have learned to do most dishes almost perfect!
