She threw it all back up

I bought the brats a treat, its those pouches of food. They tend not to eat the shredded food, I try to avoid it. My mom bought two pouches the other day for them. They are $1.50 each, the high end brand I buy. They inhaled it so I bought 2 today to spolit so they had two flavours. I put a little in each dish, and put them down. I dont know if Patches ate too fast, or got one of the shreded piece in her throat. But she ate half of it, and then started going like she had a hairball and threw it all up. She seems fine now after being carried around then sleeping on my bed. So I will ask next time if they are shredded or just the gravy chunks. I think they eat it too fast, and dont chew it as wiping it up thats what it looks like.

When I gave my cat her new food recently that's supposed to make her loose alittle weight (dry food) she threw it up one time but so far she's been fine with it otherwise. She always eats grass (I grow in pots for her in the house as she is an indoor kitty) and throws up once in awhile after doing that so that might have been the cause at the time as well. You might just have to introduce the new treats slowly into their diets and not everyday til their system gets used to it. The same as you do with new foods.

I also tried to change my cat's food to a new, dry, weight loss food. It's the same brand I've given them for over 10 years but the lower calorie version. They were sick for about 3 days and one, Biff, started pulling out some of his hair. I returned them to the previous food and tossed out the new!

Our cats do the same thing - they eat too fast and throw some of it up. Seems to happen more when they get a different type of food. Ours really love the chunks (really squares) of food in the pouches or cans. I used to buy the Nutro Natural pouches. Stinks they got rid of those, but the small cans have the same square shaped food.

aww thats to bad. You were trying to buy them treats and then it just wound up being a waste of money. I had a cat who from the day he was born would have a terrible time eating he would sneeze and sneeze while he ate and gag. I took him to the vet when he was a baby but he didnt find anything wrong with him.

Did you ever find out what was wrong with him? MY friends cat was like that and ended up having polyps in his nose. I think it was just the size and cut of the treats. I am going to avoid those ones from now on, and buy the regular type.

oh oh, yes i think she ate it very fast and got choked. It might not be a waste of money as I see it, you can give it to them later sometime. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.
