This question has been bugging me since a long time. Whether the strings of guitar or the Keys of piano are the most soothing to a persons hand. I have been looking at playing the guitar but its often a perception that stringed instrument do present a profound challenge in learning. Is it so???

I learned how to play the guitar when I was 11. 3 years later, I tried to learn the piano and it became very easy for me. Maybe because I have become familiar with the family keys. My friend has experienced the same thing. Which is easier to learn? I think it depends on a person's interest. One thing is for sure. Piano and guitar are both interesting to learn. All you need is passion for whatever instrument you choose.

I think the question you should answer first before continuing is, are you determined to learn. Do you have the passion for music. If so, I guess learning would be easier either with piano or guitar. Both of them produces good music of their own without the accompaniment of other musical instruments.

I play both instruments, and from personal experience I would say learning the guitar would be a easier than learning the piano. The strumming part of the guitar is really easy to pick up, but obviously the picking part is harder to master because it relies a lot on knowing the right string to press on and the appropriate fingerwork and progression. On the other hand, the piano has many aspects to master. You have to concentrate on both hands, choose the right chords for the left hand, master the scales and arpeggios, and others. I had learned the piano formally for close to 10 years and even until now I still find that I am not that good and there are still so many things about piano that I still don't know and fail to master. I would recommend starting on the guitar first, then if you're interested, you can move on to learning the piano. The chord progression you pick up from strumming/picking the guitar can be helpful in assisting you to choose the chords on the left hand when you play the piano. But obviously, learning any musical instrument presents a challenge of its own. Anyway, good luck and I hope you are able to play a musical instrument shortly!

I think the guitar is much easier to learn as compared to the piano where you have use both hands as well as your feet. Having formal lessons in piano would be helpful in order to get acquainted with it easily. I learned to play the guitar only from friends and some song books.

Either piano or guitar is easy to learn if you are really interested in it. You can learn by yourself online from videos. So played both and learned both by watching videos. Both will affect your finger especially guitar. Your left hand of your fingertips will be very painful when you starts playing it for the first time. And after a long period, your fingertips will be very hard that you barely feel the pain. As for piano, sometimes you will play til your finger feel some sort of pain if you weren't get used to it. Well, for me both piano and guitar are easy if you give me those notes and chords. To be able to learn both of it more easily, firstly you must learn the basic about the notes or chords for both piano and guitar. After knowing the basic, it will never a hard thing to learn. Good luck in learning both piano and guitar! :)
