Hey syoti20! I got my 7 inch at CDR-KING for 3999. I had it for five months now and it's still in top condition. It runs ice cream sandwich android 4.3. They also have a 10 inch there for about 5999. Same specs too. I suggest you go check the store and see if you might find something you might like there.

I am sure any tablet that is within your budget would make a treasured gift. Most tablets (of reputable brand) are about the same in terms of function. If you friend writes a blog, likelihood the editor she uses is web-based so that should pose not much of an issue.
She is so fortunate to have a generous friend like you.

At that budget, it really is a gamble when it comes to the quality of the tablet that you can purchase. Though, based on my own experience, I used to have a Coby tablet and it's just around 5000php, and it is still working until now. Only, it's my son who uses it for his game sand not me. With it's internet capabilities, I would say it's a 6.5 in a scale of 10. Not bad for it's price.

I think buying a tablet in Divisoria, Manila is not a good idea. No offense but the quality is not that great and you don't know if it last long. If your budget is 5000 pesos then, they have tablets in malls that offer that price. The number one China made tablet from CDR King. It is good and has warranty also. And a much higher end than those from Divisoria.

I am using iPad and it is really good and user friendly. I have tried galaxy tab and I was clueless. It's actually up to individual. I uses iPad for meeting and also my personal entertainment and I feel it's the best.
Cheers

Quite difficult to tell without seeing the choices. @ PhP 5000, it's probably an Android tablet but you need to make sure the screen is capacitive instead of resistive.
You can see the comparison in the following url:
http://www.goodgearguide.com.au/article/355922/capacitive_vs_resistive_touchscreens/
It is more difficult to use a resistive screen. However, capacitive screens are more expensive.

Well tablet are quite cost higher than your budget so you will really have a hard time to find one.
Tablets now are quite cosy due to hi tech features that it showcase.
You are quite thoughtful of giving your special someone a very nice gift. As they says, its the thoughts that count.

I would certainly suggest Ipad to be the best tablet but that would be a bit too much for your budget. Hence its better to go for Imate or similar ipads which would give you much better performance at lower cost and more reliability

iPads are really good but more expensive. Samsung galaxy tablets are a little less expensive, but are great tablets. One unique tablet that is really good is the asus transformer. They can be as expensive as the iPad, depending on features you want, but their unique quality is that they have a keyboard that you can attach to itto make typing easier. I work in a retailer that sells tablets and the transformer is by far my favorite.
