But its a problem for me...once I see the daylight, its just
not easy to go back to sleep during the day..But the biggest
problem is that I say up EVERY night until after 2==3 oclock
before going to bed,,,
It seems like between watching TV and
playing games on this darn computer I just don't get sleepy.
Some times its been 4-5 am before I cut off the TV and computer'
I often say to myself, "you have to do better than this"

You must be having insomnia if you have difficulty sleeping early at night. Or maybe because of you too much time in front of the tv or your computer that you loss track of time. You must also be a light sleeper that is why with just a glimpse of light you are already awake.
Try shutting down your tv and computer at 9pm. Take a warm shower then just lay in bed and relax your mind. It might help you.

Jenny thanks so muc, I am sure you are right, I do suffer
from insomnia and I am a light sleeper..and have always
been,,even when my daughter was younger and would fall alseep
in her bangles, I could hear her all night every time she moved..
But turn everything off at 9:00, wow..I might try for maybe
12:30 first but I definately know its not going to be 9:00..
Thats absolutly to much sleep for me..I've actually never
required 7-8 hours of sleep for year..,,,that much sleep
makes me very irritable the next day.
I know....I am all befuddled...

Maybe you can get some curtains that are dark, or a room darkener shade. This makes it so the light won't come in to keep you up. No, it's not easy to sleep during the day like that.
I get sleepy if I'm just laying in bed and watch tv...if I was on the computer I wouldn't get sleepy so I don't use it after a certain time in the evening. Do you have a tv in your bedroom? I really don't, but mine is light enough to carry into it until I can afford to get another one. Pain in the butt but it helps. If I didn't have the tv I wouldn't be able to sleep..how weird is that! Hope you get some sleep soon..you need to change your habits.

Hi kashmere, thanks for responding...I do have room darkener
shades in my bedroom...since I stopped working my daughter
call me every morning about 9:30/10:00 to check on me to see
how I am feeling..so sometimes I am still sleep and then a
lot of times I am up and moving around already...
I am suppose to take pain pills every night and sometimes
I don't for a couple of days because if I take it late it
\makes me drowsy late into the following morning...I do
not like feeling lethargic...
But you are so right,,,like I said "I have to do better"...

I have a sleeping disorder and I will go for weeks sleeping from 8a. until late afternoon. THen I will sleep afew hours and be up and then sleep afew more for afew weeks. Then I will sleep more regularly and go to bed by 2 or 3a. for six to eight hours. I think that if you are seeing some fatigue problems you can play some games with yourself so you can get more sleep. GOing to bed at the same time but hiding the daylight with shades, putting up dark paper, etc. CLosing doors or whatever it takes. Or you put yourself on a better schedule by going to bed earlier.

Hi celtic, I agree, I really have to get myself on a
better schedule...I've been doing this for many years
and its just a hard habit to break, going to bed early.
It seem that after so many hours I get a second wind
and I am not sleep at all...I have sleeping pill also
but I don't want to depend on them to go to sleep so I
rarely take them...

If you have to sleep during the day then I suggest getting some room darkening blinds. That will help. And wait until you are fully exhausted and then lay down. Good luck!

Dark curtains that block the light may help. Also, you can try wearing a sleeping mask, it might be a little uncomfortable in the beginning but it will hellp once you get used to it.
I am also like you but when I have a reason to wake up early, like going to work or having other commitments that need to be completed in the morning, you will be tired very early and you'll sleep very easily. When I had to wake up at 6.30 am everyday, I was feeling sleepy at 11 pm! :P
Now I am lucky that I go to work a bit later and it's very close to my house, I get to sleep later and enjoy my nights at home or have a drink with my friends sometimes!

We are sailing in the same boat here my friend! I can't even have a nap for 10 minutes in the afternoon. I feel dizzy after lunch when I'm free but whenever I try to have a little sleep, it just can't happen. My mind starts to imagine alot of things and more so those that i haven't achieved!

The light from the computer and television screens makes you stay awake longer, it is just how we are made. they say to get away from things like that for an hour or two before you want to sleep. I have to make my room dark and cool in order to sleep and I still do not catch more than an hour ever, and usually it is more like half an hour.

A lot of times I am on the laptop on my bed and my eyes
do start to get tired but that 2-3 am..and i don't ever
fight the feeling, when I get tired everything goes off
and I still need another 1/2 hour before going to sleep...
The TV is own but I am listen more than watching because
I am on the laptop..I do not nap at all...I remember once
I tool a pain pill about 3:00pm. fell asleep and woke
about 6:30 pm and thought I had sleep all night...and the
only reason I woke up was because my daughter was calling
and I ask her why was she calling me so early,,I was really
discombobulated....LOL..she thought her mother had lost
her marbles...

I used to be able to function on so much less sleep when I am young but I just cannot stay awake now like I used to. I used to have the same problem as you. When I was in high school I would stay up on the computer until I got tired and it wouldnt be until around 2am or so then I would have to get up at 7 to go to school. It was just a normal routine for me. I didnt have time to nap during the day but when it was light out I couldnt anyway. Now anytime I lay down to nap I am tired enough I can sleep lol.

I am the same. I work 2nd shift and when I get home, I can be tired but I get a 2nd wind. I am often up until 3 or more. The worst is that I automatically wake up between 6:30 and 7:30 AM every single morning regardless and am wide awake and can't fall back to sleep. I have been like that my whole life....surviving on just a few hours sleep. I will sometimes get extremely towards late afternoon but sleep is impossible as I'm either at work or home and have to fix dinner etc. Once in a very great while, I can lie down around noon and sleep for a couple of hours but honestly, that just makes me feel blah and disoriented. I have been doing this so long that I don't even try to change things.

Ironically, I actually jumped off from here fairly early last night or at least early for me and told my daughter that she could use the computer. I brushed my teeth and got into my pjs and went to bed and slept till 8 this morning....highly unusual for me! I thought to myself, "hmm, I should do this every night." and I know myself too well...won't happen.
I have had cancer but not the chemo. I did get the radiation treatment and it was caught quick enough that they got it all in one treatment, thankfully. I would not be surprised if you still have side effects from the Chemo. I know that immediatly after my treatment, I felt so so so tired that I could not function and that lasted for a bit. Anyway, so glad that you are a survivor!!

Hello sid, you got me,,,thats just the way I feel, I say to
myself 'I have to do better" but now I am thinking "why"?
I am so use to this schedule and even tho its been years
since the chemo I still feel I still have some of that poison
in my system which attributes to me being tired most of the
time...
Thanks so much for responding and understanding my issue..
Continued blessings!!!!

Maybe your body internal clock already get used to it, and you just have to adjust it again before you live like a vampire. That is what my mom used to say to me when it was weekend, I also go to bed late at night. Try to sleep earlier, even though you toss and turn a little. You just have to make yourself to sleep earlier, and make it as a habit, then you might start to go to bed earlier.

I usually nap in the afternoon if ever I feel I lack some sleep in the evening. I am a late sleeper usual bedtime is 11:30 pm to 1:00 am. I use a timer whenever I am watching television or using the computer so as to remind me that it's time to rest.
I am also woke up several times just to leak. My sleep average sleep now is just 5 hours, a sign that I am not younger anymore, lol. I have the same problems as you not too long ago, that almost always I end up watching tv or playing computers till sunrise. Now I am using timer that i set to 12:00 am to automatically put my tv to sleep or my computer's modem to shutdown.

Hi romzee, you know even when I was young I never got that
much sleep...I use to work a regular job like from 8-4 and
then worked at the bar as a mixologist from like 9pm to 2am,,
and I was fine with that for years, no problem at all..
so I just never was one for sleeping 7-8 hours...

Hello. I also experienced that.My sleeping time is from 2:00 am to 3:00 am like last night but my hours of wake ups is from 10 am to 11 am so I think it is not that bad.The only thing that I am worried about is that it was already late for what they called GRACE as the elders say "Early birds, catches early worms."I do not know if that was the exact phrase.hehe..Though, a little bit worry but I have still maintain my 8 hours sleep.

not even trying to catch that worm....LOL..
I am still laying
down on my bed at that time of morning but just can't go back
to sleep...
thanks so much for sharing your response....
have a great week.....
