I have this goal which i am working at for more than a week now. I just feel so discouraged last night. That i started to eat a lot to make myself feel good so i won't feel so low. But it destroys my goal when i started eating a lot but i felt good though. So i know that the right thing should make me feel good but it does not. Doing the wrong thing makes me well and happy for a short time. after that i have bad feeling in my tummy and like a big head ache. anyway, i will try to control my over eating. i need to.

Any time I work toward a new goal, I have setback days. It's hard to form new habits. I try to just do a little bit at a time, so I have really small goals that build up to the big goal. Right now, I am trying to control my spending.

Hi mylot friend! I know how hard it is to try to stick to a goal that u have set for yourself, believe me I know.
I have tried to set a certain goal for myself only to not go by it in the end.
I have learned as well as have a ton of support from family and friends to help motivate me in my goal.
Like right now, I am giving work at home another shot because the first 5 times that I have tried it, there was no support from anyone in my life but now it's different because I have the support I needed from the beginning. So today I will do what I should have done on the first place-motivate myself!
I know y I failed too and after I figured that out then I knew what I had to do. I have had my fair share if nay-sayers saying it won't work all this negative talk it was just bringing me down making me feel depressed....
I never listen to them tho! I know it is possible I can work from home. I have the right talent and the know how..well some of it.
So until I can fully understand, I am going to stick with doing surveys and mylotting! I'm like 20% away from reaching payout!
U say u eat a lot to make urself feel better? It's ok to eat a lot but eat healthy whole grain fruit and veggies :) ull do just fine if u do that.. Have u tried dancing?! I have found that to be fun and rewarding!!

So what is this goal that you have been deterred from achieving? From this post it is quite hard to understand what your current state is. I'll however sympathize with whatever it is that you are going through.I also want to confirm that there is total happiness in doing the right thing always!

I have always been sensitive to others remarks, I guess it comes from being badly bullied at school and that was when I can locate the exact stage of my life where I turned to food for comfort. I comfort ate when I was upset or picked on, usually about my weight, so I learnt at a very young age that food gives me the support and happiness. Even now in my forties I still comfort eat and yes I am still as sensitive to remarks from strangers or disappointments in my life. It's part of our core belief, whatever we learnt from children we tend to carry through and its very hard to change. When we feel upset, down or disappointed the first thing we turn to? Food!

Hello hotsummer,
It is really in the same way as I do most of the times. When I am happy and relaxed, I eat as much as I could and I later regret that the things I have planned has not been done. When I think that I am going on the right path these relaxation with over eating diverts me from my regular activities before I finish my stuff on the particular day. I am little by little controlling my over eating daily for my goals and aims on my life.
Great discussion.
Cheers. Have a great day always.

Don't get it into the habit of eating whenever you feel depressed coz it does not help you solve your problem at all. If you feel bad about something, it is okay. It is normal. But deal with it in a way that you are able to think of a better way to solve it.

it's too hard to do what we don't want, even though we know we have to do it. It's because of our habits. We can't change our habits easily. So i think you should stick to, not give up, it could be very difficult at first, but you could be accustomed to it soon, then you change you habit succeed.

don't be. theres always ups and downs when you chase a certain goal. It's something that's never erased, obstacles do exist and challenges are there for you to face. This will test how strong your desire is to reach your goal. Try and try until you succeed.

Its a runaway. Dont just keep running back to your comfort zone because you know eating will make you happy but only temporarily. Its also called a run away because you are running from something you know is going to be better for you, but its going to be different. Dont be afraid to take the big step in achieving whatever it is that you want to do to make you better. Yeah everything is always easyer said then done but that all comes down to the individual. You can do it. Be strong. I hope this helps. good luck.

Doing the right thing does not always guarantee us happiness. More often, at least as I observed it, doing the right thing leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Like being cheated on and deciding to let the other go because it has become the right thing to do. It will leave you sore but then, you've lessened the burden you might still be carrying as well as the feeling of resentment the other is already feeling. When you eat, it will make you happy momentarily, but when you are taking care of yourself by eating a balanced (or controlled) meal and eventually see results, would that not leave you happier for longer? :)
