I know that money is transferred to Paypal account online. But is it possible to deposit money into paypal account just the way we do in other banks. What will happen to my money if i keep it in the paypal account indefinitely?

We have to link our credit card to paypal account. After that how we can use paypal--I have not done any transactions using paypal account. All those transactions which you can do with paypal possibly you can do with credit card. i am not that sure.

Today I came to know about one more feature of paypal account. I got $10 remitted by another website. Paypal has deducted their commission and the balance I have is $9.13. I requested for transfer to my bank account. But the minimum remittance is stated to be $10. So this amount can lie in that account till I get next remittance and club the same and I can transfer or remit to my bank account. I was not aware of the minimum limit for transfer to bank account. good day.

Just now I received an email from paypal stating that $9.31(not 9.13) has been transferred to my bank account as per automatic withdrawal scheme --applicable in India. this is for your info. I want to correct the observation made by me earlier that paypal insists on withdrawal of 10$. thanks paypal.

ravi, I too wondered when you wrote about minimum amount of 10 dollars , I dont think that they have any such rules, in fact they transfer it pretty quickly into our bank account. The other day I wanted to make use my balance in paypal to buy anti virus online but before I could make up my mind, the amount that had been remitted the previous day had already been transferred to my bank account...

I don't think you can make any money deposits in Paypal, as it is meant to be used online only. You can keep your money in Paypal indefinitely and nothing will happen to it!

From what I know you cannot add funds from your bank account. The facility is available only if you have an account in a US bank. The only transfer that can be done is from another paypal account..

No, as far as I know it is not possible to deposit money into Paypal account physically, it is an online process which is possible only by means of the Internet.

I do not think it is possible to deposit money into your paypal account physically. By physically perhaps you meant bringing your cash to a physical outlet to deposit your money. I have not come across anyone who managed to do that. I guess paypal is only available virtually on the internet. It is only possible to transfer money from your bank into the paypal account.

PayPal is an online Payment Provider, not a bank. Depending on the country you are from, you can transfer funds to and from PayPal electronically only - that is to say from an existing bank account or credit card which has been registered with PayPal (thus 'verifying' your account). There are no physical offices of PayPal which will accept cash to fund your account. Since you are from India, it's almost certain that you have had to agree that all funds in your PayPal account will be transferred to your verified bank account within 7 days of receipt. PayPal have waived transfer charges for Indian residents because of this agreement with the RBI. In other words, because of the regulations imposed by the RBI, you cannot (or should not be able to) hold funds in your PayPal account. If you are Indian and have an unverified PayPal account, you will be severely restricted in what you can do with the money. Many sites (indeed, most sites) will not accept payment by PayPal unless the account is verified and this, effectively, means that you will have to have authorisation from your bank if you want to make payments overseas.

Paypal acts more like a bank locker than an actual bank. You will get charged for transferring the money to the account be it via bank transfer or credit card depending on your location. So, you cannot give someone cash and deposit it in paypal per se.

Not possible, Paypal only provides us safer transaction using our credit or debit cards they disclosed the information of our cards rather than buy it directly with the sites online.

PayPal does not currently offer the ability to add funds from your bank account if you are using a debit card in linking your Paypal account. When you make a payment, PayPal charges the buyer's credit card and instantly credits the seller's PayPal account. So this means, if you linked your credit card to your Paypal account, Paypal right away charges the amount to your credit card.
