In painting a realistic piece, you have one subject in the picture, that is, the focal point in the painting itself. it maybe a portrait of a person, a flower or a landscape scenery. and that's it, what you see is what you feel. But how about the picasso style? abstract. A piece composed of lines which you cant understand to where is it going. colors that never compliments with each other. A piece overflowing with expressions, themes that most of the time, only the artist himself will understand. So, which style do you prefer better? As for me, i'm into picasso more.

I'm not a painting connoisseur, but it's more likely I'll be touched by a painting capturing the soul of a person or a vibration of a landscape, then an abstract representation of...I'm not exactly sure what...

By myself, having a realistic personality, choose realism over abstract 95 percent of the time. Although bad realism can be very dull and unmoving, abstract can have a hard to tell goal for the veiwer, and overall can be stupid.
