Oh how much I rely on electricity!

I didn't realize how much of my life is controlled by electricity until it shut off for a few hours today. Thankfully it was after my shower, as my water heater is electric and there's no window in my bathroom to let light in! I couldn't even leave my house because my garage door opener is also electric and I couldn't figure out how to disable it to open the door and let my car out... My sister and I joked that I would have to start a fire to heat water to do the dishes and that I'd have to eat all the ice cream before it melts. She also said I'd turn into that crazy person who sits outside and glares at the neighbors out of boredom. Luckily none of that happened. I managed to not starve nor go insane from lack of tv and internet. Actually, I sat in the backyard with the pets and read a book. But I think after a few more hours, I would've started to struggle! How much do you rely on electricity? Would you survive a day without it?

My electricity went off completely a couple of months ago and before they moved me into a different flat I had to cope with one plug that was fed through the window from the block next door. It is quite scary to realise how lost you are without it, especially in the evening when you can't put the lights on.

I'm sorry that happened to you. That does not sound like fun. I've never liked when the power goes out at night!

Well in our world today, electricity is really important in our daily living. I could survive a day without electricity but if there still no electricity in the coming days, definitely it would be hard to all of us.

Yes, I think it's just the way society is. We've grown up relying on it for so much! Should something bad happen to us and wipe out electricity, I think many of us would have a hard time.
