my children cooked dinner tonight. :D they made pork chops, mashed potatoes, and a pea salad. it was the best tasting dinner i've had in quite a while. they did an awesome job!! hubby said he was jealous!! staying in a hotel room, without a fridge and microwave, he's forced to go out to eat. he's tired of eating out. he's ready for some home cooked meals. i can't wait to surprise him with some of his favorite dinners when he gets home. :D

Hey, that's great! I bet your kids felt pretty pleased with themselves, and it's such a useful thing to be able to do. Plus, you got a great dinner out of it.

yes, it always feels good to come home and know that dinner is always ready and that i didn't have to cook it after a hard day at work.

My son refuses to cook. Heck, he won't even make his own sandwhich most of the time. My daughter is good though. She's willing to make herself some quick meals that she knows she can make. I've taught her some of the basics like grilled cheese, omelets, egg in the hole. She's also quickly become an expert at pancakes as long as the mix is in a box and you just add water. She hasn't progressed to making a whole dinner yet but she can keep herself fed. :)

It is great that you have your kids to help you around the home when you need them to. A lot of parents never teach their children how to do things like cooking and this means that they are always the ones who have to cook the dinner rather than letting the kids take over when they are old enough to do so. I have recently started doing most of the cooking around the house for my parents, although I am 22 so I guess it is about time! They never used to let me help in the past though, which was nice of them in a way, but has just meant that I have had to learn very quickly now.

Hello there Angel. Wow! It's good that your children could already help you out in the kitchen and they even did really great. I really like what you had for dinner. I think they are really yummy. :) It's only a bit bad because your hubby wasn't able to taste the food they cooked for dinner tonight. Though, that's still okay because I think when he could get home already, he would really enjoy the meals you would prepare especially for him. Always enjoy preparing and eating meals with your family. Happy myLotting. :)

You are very fortunate to have such an extravagant dinner. When I worked and the kids were home, my kids would microwave me t.v. dinners!! Seriously though, last year for Thanksgiving our son invited us over for dinner, he made the turkey, mashed potatoes and everything! I think when some one else does the cooking it always tastes better!
