Here's what, my fellow Filipinos.

I do not want to call it Filipino frailty, because, say, hey, we all make mistakes, perhaps, on certain cases, out of ignorance, but on more proven situations in life, like the traitor who squealed the Kataastaasang,Kagalangalangang Katipunang Anak ng Bayan, there exists amongst us one or two who would betray our own countryman. Common parlance call it crab mentality, because we do not want others on top. That is why many of our successful countrymen made it to the farthest corners of the globe, but never here, in our islands. What am I talking about? Okay, for the first time, I am ranting here on mylot. Actually, I want to express my disgust over that leaderboard we see at the bottom of the discussion list. I stopped mylotting for a year, and when I came back, I was surprised to see I was still on the top twenty, if I recall right. After posting some discussions, I quickly made it to contention, and even if I was not actually aiming to be on the leaderboard, I admit that being on top gives a certain joy, and thus I was inspired to put in my two cents worth everyday. Gosh though, I was surprised that after being critical in some of my recent posts, I immediately dropped to 15, and then 17, and then 21 yesterday, and this morning, all the way down to 32. Well, I did hit right at someone with a painful truth, did I not? And making me pay for it by clicking negative on me was sweet revenge. Have it your way, may the law of karma be on you.

Oh my! And I was about to say "You can call me traitor anytime since I am not nationalistic and I criticize Filipino actions so much that you can say I am insulting their works..." and those things until I've read everything. Is it important? I mean the leaderboard rankings? I don't think it is something to be watchful of but I don't know with you.

I admire your optimism to be able to change our stubborn nation and open their eyes to certain facts. I long have given up in trying since I know that no one would ever see the truth unless if they so wish to see it.

I traveled a few places when I was young. Our country is so beautiful. Mu favorite is Dalton Pass, and I still contend that when I grow real old, I will retire there, where heaven meets earth, and wait for my time. I talked with people, and if I couldn't understand their dialect, I took photographs to remember them by. Our people are so sincere and simple, I vowed I would fight for this country so the people would keep on being the simple folks that they are.

First, you are so truthful and that is something to commend about. Second, the leaderboard is my gauge that I am getting my messages to as many Filipinos, so we could be a great people. I do not want to expire and leave a tumultuous nation. My life would have been in vain. It's the least I can do for my country.

Well that is still one thing that boggles me here in mylot..those ratings and rankings on leaderboard, lol no matter how active i get here, how active i get in one interest or something, i never go up those boards as if i care lol.. but then again, i do not know why some would also negative rate people here, i don't and i guess i won't.

I'm with you! I say amen, and hope karma hits 'em.. I find such behavior as negative rating for opinion, very silly and grade schoolish.

The question is? Is it really important? I hope your not getting obsessive with the rankings. because I was once obsess reaching 98 to 100 on my star, but for certain reason, I have been lowered. more so, the 2010 elections made me lost a lot more. after a while, i decided not to make it matter anymore, and now i feel good. I believe the sensitive ones and those who are not ready to change or accept your truth will result in pure defensive mode. reminds me a lot of some one who is from a mylotter who is a liberal party member, lets say he was too smart, but too close minded because he believes he can step on any one for his intelligence. they were a lot of people he pissed of for being too critical, probably way too critic than you. but just let it pass, at least you still have your 9 star

When I saw the drop in the rankings, I really thought of sending you a private message and air my complaint. I know that you have endured far greater trials here, and you must have found ways how to handle those without breaking the code of decency and the rules. No, I do not aim to be on top, for I know that there will always be far greater, or lesser persons than I am. What I am asking for is the correctness in the reputation I have worked hard for. Thanks Knight, for that shoulder to lean on, LOL. I received an invitation for the 13th October conference. Where would that be? And what time. That is the weekend before the Manila Fame, the DTI program my daughter is attending to. And I am attending to her, ha ha. But if the venue is accessible, I could make a spin and show everyone I have grown my hair long and added real unwanted pounds. ROFL.

To be honest I avoid that discussion because i know am not going attend, i don't want to give false promises. I was waiting to find out the location, in case i change my mind for the last minute =p. Well, simple really, i just avoided anymore controversial and debated discussions. I just want to talk about it as simple as possible andprobably not break anymore guidelines

Well, I get what you mean. That really brings us to an entirely new level, as we have to reveal who we really are, not just virtual internet friends, but real life who's who. I think I am just the only one who is not hidden on an avatar.

Just relax my friend. Ok, let me understand it clearly you were saying that someone just hit the negative feedback button then your rank dropped? What if someone here have been given positive feedback from other Filipino members then he/she ranked up that would also mean they ranked you up right?

My gosh! Can people really do that here on Mylot? I didn't know. Really feel clueless now. I don't know anything about any Leaderboards. But I do know about rating a discussion or response as positive or negative. Personally, I have rated a lot of discussions positively, as well as some responders to the few discussions I started myself. I don't remember rating anybody negatively, however. My question now is, what are the advantages of being on top of the leaderboard? Do you earn more? Do they decrease your earnings when you fall off the leaderboard? Just asking here.

I am not sure about the earnings, would you like to post the questions under mylot category? Am sure many friends here would know the answers. The leaderboard is important in a way because we can gauge through it if our messages are getting across. At least, that is how I feel.

Oh well i guess it does matter if we have good rankings here.. but it does not concern me as much. i am more here to earn and have fun really. as long as i get my daily incentrives and rewards.. im all good... i'd be damned and be so angry if someone would be putting me on a reported user to be blocked because i worked so hard for my account here in mylot for 6 years and it would be unfair if someone kept on hitting me a negative ranking. Just let it be, i am sure that person who keeps hitting negative on you will stope eventually. you'll gain that plus ratings sooner than you thought. you can't put a good man down, right?

I think majority of the members here already experienced that. I was planning on posting one 'controversial' but timely post but I held on the submit button. I think I will ruffle some serious feathers. At least, you're not on Yahoo Phil. or any news station comments pages. The people who comment on those pages on those pages be rude, crude and brutal. Sometimes, you don't even know what the &^%$ they are talking about.

Thanks jeanneyvonne, and your calmness discloses a character far better than many who, without reserve, simply destroy other peoples' hearts. Thanks for telling about yahoo, I did post some responses there, and so far, no one has made any brutal comment. Gosh, I hope it doesn't happen. Everyone really needs a boost, not bully word. Except of course, when some moron calls for it. Sigh.

Honestly, at first I didn't know the deal about the leaderboard, either I am just sorely unobservant, or I just don't care (I think it's a little of both, lol!) But thanks to this discussion, I learned something new again. I was intrigued so I checked mine. When I hit page 12 and I still haven't seen my name, I just gave up, eeep! I've had the chance to see some of your discussions, and even comments, and I am with the rest of those who has commented above that it is with substance and I find myself nodding as I read on. If I were you, I would also be concerned if someone will keep on rating me negatively when it is very obvious that you didn't just thrown in some crappy reply. Anyway, this same "attitude" of us Filipinos didn't go unnoticed by my husband (a foreigner who works off-shore and handles a lot of FIlipino workers). It's not in their culture to mind someone else's work or business when they hardly have enough time to do their own. It amazes him how most of them can take the time of the day to bad-mouth a co-worker and list down everything they think was wrong with each other, yet they themselves have tons of work pending. I did try many times to explain our side, but there's nothing for me to explain. It is a bad trait, period. Some people just can't handle the truth. And also there are those who wants to hear only what they want to hear. If it's any consolation, here's one "Filipina" who sincerely believed that you should keep on with your truthfully hurtful but witty and decent discussions. Bugger the haters, haters will hate no matter what. BTW, it wasn't me, either lol! I am but a newbie who just enjoys writing and discussing anything I have taken interest in.
