i think if he commit like that, it means he will stay longer in Emirates stadium
many rumour about him leaving arsenal
especially when he always sit in the bench..
Wenger prefer choose Gervinho and Podolski as winger forward, the usually position of Walcott..
Walcott said he want to be Arsenal legend..He believes his situation is similar with Henry situation when joining with Arsenal...Henry joins Arsenal in 22 years old...
What do you think the meaning of statement of Walcott to Arsenal??

We surely can't comment anything about his future, same happened with Van Persie and Song, htey said the same things but at last they betrayed Arsenal for Manchester United and Barcelona respectively .
Walcott has never really matured in these days. He has pace but nothing extra-ordinary. He is same as what Arsenal brought him about 6 years ago, he hasn't improved to a great extent. I personally as an Arsenal fan would not really be worried if he leaves Arsenal. We have many players. With Rosicky also coming , I don't see any reason for Arsenal to miss Walcott.
But seeing what he said, it will be really nice if Walcott fulfills his desire as he said. A best of luck for him from my side.

Not if he does not improve in future. Gervinho has a free role and basically Walcott plays in the right flank.

Every player has a stage in his career when he sits on the bench. If he has great quality, he will overcome this and will be even stronger. If not, then he deserves his fate to fail.
But Theo Walcott has definitely qualities to get back in the starting eleven and if he really wants to spend his career at Arsenal he will do so.

We will see how Wenger will solve this problem. But I think that Walcott will remain there, because he really wants to be a legendary player at Emirates.

If Walcott wants to be an Arsenal legend he first needs to sign a new contract. The problem is that Walcott wants to play the striker while Wenger prefers him down the flanks. Given his pace, I also feel that playing down the wings is the best position for Walcott. Also his finishing is not clinical enough for a striker. So in that sense I think this might be a deadlock that might take long to break until one of the party give up.
Cheers!

@ram: You are right, Walcott is a good winger, but cannot be a good center forward. He is too short, has not the best shot, so he cannot be a center forward. Giroud is a tall and stronger player, he is the kind of player which can play as center forward, or even Podolski, but he is better as a second striker or as a winger.

Problems with Walcott is this. His greatest asset is his pace and that would certainly means a place in the wing. But beside that, he has nothing to thrive in the position. Unless he really improve on his ability, he cant never nail down a permanent spot, let alone be a legend.

Actually I think one of Theo's biggest mistakes was to move to Arsenal. Early on they had time to develop him when Southampton did not, but right now not having the full-time playing time is actually hurting his career particularly as other players of his age are regularly in the starting line-up.
If I were his agent that is some of the advice I would be offering right now.
Ultimately he has to play for a big name club in order to have an international career but right now he needs to be off the bench and proving himself on a day-to-day basis.
