Every time I know that I need to sleep early, I couldn't put myself to sleep. It is always a torture. There is always this anxiety or excitement of being able to be able to be at a certain place I need to be at on time. It has been happening to me the last two nights. I usually have this kind of feeling when I travel the next day or if I have a performance the next day. Then I would wake up tired.
Its been two nights already that I am having this problem again since I started to learn another language in a school. I have to catch the right time of arrival of bus near my place otherwise I would be running late. Whew!

Anxiety is a common thing in most of us. I normally use to set time in my cell phone alarm and then sleep. No problem. we should not worry too much. Worry is one of the dangerous enemies of us. Supposing we worry what will happen next year, we may not be able to live this year.
I came across a link:

good day.

I also have that problem, especially if it's something new and I'm excited anyway. My problem is I wear hearing aides and at night I take them out. So when I set the alarm I'm afraid I'll oversleep because I can't hear the alarm go off. So, a lot of times I'm waking up way before the alarm goes off. Then I doze off. I'll keep doing this until either the alarm wakes me up or it's close enough to the time that I should wake up. So by the time I have to wake up, I'm still tired.

Yes. if that is the case I am sure you would not have slept a day before your marriage. Or you may not sleep well the day before your leaving for some out station. Just keep alarm and then one can sleep. This tiredness can be overcome even if we sleep for one hour with a feeling "I have slept well". On the contrary even if you are in bed for 7 hours and have a feeling "I have not at all slept' then you will be tired. this applies to all of us. I have also experienced it sometimes.

When I used to go to University before I graduated from my course, I had to wake up at 6am in order to go and get the train. Whenever I had to get up that early I was never able to sleep the night before because I just couldn't stop worrying about having to get up at such a silly time. It was weird because I knew that I would be woken by my alarm, and I knew that it would be better for me to get some sleep, but for some reason my body wouldn't let me. I think that if I had to get up at that time every day then it might be different, but with it just being twice each week my body was never able to get into the swing of things.

I am the same way when it comes to waking up early, but I think for me its just that I am so used to staying up late and going to bed early is not something that I am used to or my body. Sometimes I just get like 3 hours of sleep and then I need to be up and ready to go do the things that I need to do. I hate waking up early or having to wake up early. I'm just not a morning person.

My cousin - 72 year old -- whenever he travels in a train he will not sleep at all in the first night. supposing train travel continues on the second night also he will sleep well. On the contrary if I get into a moving train and lie down I will sleep well. again much depends on luck in this respect also.

Well, luckily enough, that doesn't work on me. I can fall asleep easily if I want.
I just do not think too much about it. Just set an alarm clock. Sometimes, I am afraid that the alarm will not work, so I get two clocks. But I cannot always get rid of the anxiety, that is, this method doesn't work sometimes. if something huge is going to happen, I cannot fall asleep either.

It is very common for people to not able to sleep when they have something very important to be done the next day which requires them to wake up very early. I can still sleep even though I have to wake up early the next day as without sleeping I will not be able to do anything properly. That is why I will sleep at least for three hours from midnight to three in the morning.

Happens to me everytime! i hate myself for having this feeling but worries crept in like days even before a flight, i need to mentally check list if I already bring every thing most especially medicines. Then I know I have packed them already but I just have to double check to make sure. Again and again. I know I am worrying too much but I cannot sleep I cannot check them again . Small things like these are too much of a bother to disrupt and prevent sleep.

I have always had that problem. That´s why, when I have to take a plane very early, I have everything ready the day before, I take a shower and get dressed at night and doze over the bed asking someone to call me to wake me up. Wjhen I was a student and later a professor at the university, I had everything ready the night before and dreaded not being able to fall asleep.

Nope, simply because I had make it a habit to wake up early everyday especially during weekdays. Its simply because I have teach my body and mind to do this for the past 10 to 12 years of my married life. You see, I need to sleep at around 12 midnight and had to wake up around 4am to prepare my family's breakfast. If me and my wife wont do it, then we all be missing the most important meal of the day. Which my kids were never trained to go to school with empty stomach.

Yep. When I know I have to be up early for work or an appointment or something, I find that I barely sleep. And when I do sleep, I keep waking up out of fear of sleeping in late. I feel your pain. It's horrible!

I can relate to what you have experienced. It is like your body is already resting but the mind is still having so many thoughts. And even what we do, still end up tired the next day... Sometimes we end up being late on the day we are preparing for.

Hi friend! Personally I don't have problem waking up early. Even what time I would go to sleep. So in order for me to have a complete sleep, I would sleep early especially if I have to travel long distance in going to my work.

Absolutely, It is a common scenario in our life. When I need to up early at tomorrow, I will be awake and can't sleep very well. I am anxiety that I would miss appoint or something. But the reason is that I usually get up very late. This is a reality for me, it is very rough task for me.In my childhood, my mother plan go to shopping by bus/train in city from my home. He will alarm me, if I can't get up in time, She will discard me in home. Those nights I can't fall asleep, I stare at my mother and very afraid she will disappear front of me at moring.
How memorable time it is. I miss my mother, I miss my happy time, but I still also hate get up early. So start to night, it is good choise for me for schedule.

I have come to the conclusion that the earlier i need to wak up in the morning, the less I am able to sleep at night. I think I jus psyche myself out of my own sleep because i know that the hour is crucial that i am getting up.

I have sleeping problem for a long time. I always can't sleep soon. Of course we'll feel anxiety and uncomfortable after failing to sleep more than 1 hour. In this situation,we always force ourself to be slept soon and we worry our work or study next day. Unfortunately, it will be more hard to sleep if we worries more.
My experience is that you could imagine en excuse or approach for you if you get up late next morning before you go to bed each night. Hence you would not be so worried and you can fall asleep normally.

Haha, yes to everything :P I don't usually bother to sleep at all if I have to wake up in, like, another couple of hours. I'd just go and do other stuff instead to pass the time. If I try to sleep in only two hours, I'd just wake up cranky and feeling more tired than ever, so I don't :D
