A score of years and five ago, I overheard two American Navy men talking by the roadside, where we were waiting for our ride to get fixed. The bulkier one, Mr Benton said, look at those Victory Liner Buses, they have the best drivers in the world. Mr, Converse, new in the country, observed, as I did. The Victory Liners zoomed and passed our way. Hmmm, I said, how could they judge if these drivers are really the best in the world.
A decade after, I was talking with a friend, and she said her brother was just pirated by an airline company, and he had to leave Victory Liner, the only bus company in the country that never figured out in any accident. That is because all the drivers hired by this company are all ace drivers, and they can even maneuver the buses in cliffs.
Well, this morning, there is an accident in Nueva Ecija. An oil tanker hit a Victory Liner Bus. There was only a two way highway. Nine people died instantly, including the Victory Liner bus driver. He must have not bee given an option on how to save his bus.

Wow, it really does sound like the Victory Liner buses do have some of the best bus drivers in the world. However, when it comes to the accident that has just happened, I think that there are times that accidents do happen and when that does happen, there is really nothing that you are able to do that will be able to avoid the accident. The worst part of all of this is the fact that there were so many people that perished in this accident.

The bus conductor was so sad. He recalled the last actions of the bus driver before they embarked on that last trip. The driver made sure he had a good sleep. He ate his meal right, checked the passenger manifest, and was really in good spirits when they made their way down from the North. That motorbike must have defective tail lights, for the conductor and the passengers felt the abrupt wheel control, meaning the driver did not see the motorbike not until it was right before him. Sad, really.

Though no matter how people behave on the road, there are still many of them who were reckless. The bus driver may be the smartest and the most defensive driver we had, but because of some reckless driver, the inevitable happened. I am proud to say that I am a defensive driver. but no matter how we drive safely, there's always one that will lead us to accidents.

I hate those motorbikes. Most often, in our roads, those bikes cause the accidents.
