My meeting with Guruji

India
September 26, 2012 4:39am CST
These days, because of health issues, I am not active in mylot; more over there is frequent brown outs, declared and undeclared, it upsets my mood most of the times. This morning I had been to my Guruji with some friends, he is not living in the cave in deep forest any more, but in an ‘ashram’ 60 kilometers from our home. He is clean shaved now, wears white dress like most Indians. During discussion Prof Sinha who was with me asked him, why sages are now leaving the caves, forests and coming to city/villages? Why they have changed the look too? Guruji said, ‘they have to leave the jungle; because the terrorists, smugglers are now living safely in jungles, we are no more safe there.’ But many so called ‘guruji’ ,‘sage’ are now fully commercial; they do all nasty things. Well in my opinion, guruji was right. Your say on this? Please comment on this and share your views. Thanks in advance. Prof. Bhuwan September 26 2012.

Good Morning my friend! I understand your frustration with your health - yours as well as the brownouts. As you know the majority of my knowledge of your faith comes from what you have taught me so I am not aware of "Guruji" but assume it is a place of faith. It is a sad event that the bad people are now taking over sacred places in your country...India has enough natural problems without additional nonsense from the native people. Fortunately here in Thailand there is no problems with the Buddhist temples and we are allowed with no limit to worship where we wish with no fear. I hope that things will improve in your country.

Thanks for the explanation...the "ji" was throwing me off. I often think of people of high esteem in a religion who turn sour for money or power. All those previous lives lived to obtain a good standing and then boom...back to an incarnation of a frog! LOL

Hello my friend Professor2010 Ji, Well, I think there is a distinctive vast difference among Guruji, Sage, Hermit and so on. Guruji starts with parents itself. Next in case of real Gurujis, they should not be afraid. In olden times, how Balmikiji was converted. In gfact I do not have any faith among any modern Gurujis. I do not think anyone can solve any of our social problems. They have lot of money. You may be surprised taht while passing Ram-Deo's Ashram, I thought of Visiting his Ashram only, there was a entrance fees of Rs.100/-. What happened to 'SATYA-SRI-SAI BABA'. Such people are involved in some unsocial activities. May God bless You and have a great time

Hello my friend Professor2010 Ji, Well, first of all I wish to apolize if you got hurt as it involves your Guru as well. I wish to inform you that we come from KATYAN GOTRA and we are Brahmin by cast, whose duty assinged was only taeching, and would like to remain pure in thought word and deeds. In our house , no onion oR garlic has any entry. My hubby has his Guru as 'HANUMAN' many people ask, when we lock our hoiuse at native place for 7-8 months and spend our quality time else where, there is always doubt how my house is taken care-Off. My hubby believes, it is all due to Hanumanji. On emust have belief. At this stage, I do not need any physical Guruji. We have to pass on our teachings to youngsters one, next time I pass in front of his Ashram, I will get a photigraph for entrance fees board and post it here. I do not have any belief in present Bababs. They should shift tehir Venus to Jungle instead loitering in 5 STAR hotels. May God bless You and have a great time

I'm not familiar with the term Guruji so I really am not able to speak on them becoming commercial now and doing dirty things in order to make money. However, the statement about coming out of the forests and caves to live in the city instead because of the fact that the terrorists and such are moving in on their territory, I wouldn't have actually thought that it was something that was true because it sounds so very cliche, but I could very easily be wrong.

namaskar sir it is good to see a discussion from you after so long. Almost everything today is getting commercialized. The sages and gurujis too have to become commercialized as if they dont, they wouldnt be known. In today's hi-tech era, if you dont exist on FB, Twitter or other social media or even television, the chances are that you dont exist - this is what many many of today's gen-Y believe... And also, going by the rates of deforestation here in the country, I wonder how many safe caves or jungles would be now available for these hermits to exist...

Professor bhaiya: I have to agree with your guruji--yes forests are no longer safe. among gurujis some of them exploit the poor people, rich people, young women, young men to make money and also to enjoy life. I think this must be 20% of gurujis like this. We must identify good gurujis and pay respects to them. If a guruji respects a devotee only when the devotee gives money then we should keep ourselves away from him. I do give respects to gurujis like Ravishankarji, Sankaracharya--but when it comes to publicity some of them overdo. We normal people crave for appreciation in our blogs, work spots. Same thing is done by gurujis also. Some gurujis like Nithyananda adopt religion for making money, increasing wealth and enjoy life.
