Computers are simplified into two major parts. Namely software and hardware.
Hardware: is the physical part of the computer, that the parts of the computer that can touch and feel it. such as keyboard, mouse,hard drive,motherboard,monitor etc.
Software: is the parts of the computer that can feel but cannot touch. It the software that commands or tell the hardware what to do. some of the common example of the software are: web browser,game,office-word,music etc

In hardware, you will also have two types..
Input- where the information from outside that will control the software..for example the keyboard,mouse,scanner,digital camera..
using these input devices..the computer can be operate..
Output- basically the information from the computer to outside..
for example the monitor,printer and etc..
Information from the cpu will be displayed on the monitor's screen which in computer terms..cpu will give output to the screen when the input(mouse) is moving..and you can see this on the monitor..
