Taking a quotation out of context, as you appear to be doing here, is inclined to completely change the meaning.
Obama went on to compare this statement with others which are equally intolerant and his point was, in the words of Ghandi: "Intolerance is, itself, a form of violence and an obstacle to the development of a true democratic spirit." http://youtu.be/T6uZFSj_ueM
His statement at this point was clearly made to express his disapprobation of the recent film which has caused so much unrest in the Muslim community. Have you watched it? It is a truly dreadful production which is really so bad that it made me physically sick to think that anyone could be allowed to make such a childish and clumsy piece of invective, let alone to have it broadcast so widely. If I were American, I would be ashamed that one of my countrymen could be 'such a retard' (to use an American schoolyard expression).
If you believe in intolerance and think that it can play any part at all in democracy, then I am sorry for you and I don't think you have any right to call yourself American.

The film in question was highly insulting and intolerant, therefore it constitutes a violent act. Christians, in theory, at least, reject the doctrine of "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" (and, in any case, a murder in exchange for an insult is not a 'fair exchange'!).
I don't know what the Quran advises, but I am pretty certain that it would not condone the murder of random, innocent Americans simply because it was an (individual) American who insulted their religion.

An insult cannot be violence under any definition of law. Assault must include physical violence under the criminal code, and under the tort law, there must be language that implies an immediate threat of physical violence. That is the law as based on English Common Law. There is no violence involved in saying Mohammed married a six year old girl and consummated the marriage when she was nine. Besides, it's true.
You should find out what the Qu'ran says. Those who insult Mohammed are to be killed.

It is rude to condemn somebody else's religion or prophet. Rude but not illegal. Obama's agenda and opinion really won't matter soon. If you will recall the American Revolution was the work of 30% of the citizenry. That is how serious we were for our freedom. We will be again. I am not ready to give up my country.

The speech was carefully crafted to make Americans believe that he was standing up for free speech while being sensitive to all religions. It was also meant to assure the Muslims that he will defend their religion but not others.
There was no talk of "slander" when it comes to other religions. He only spoke of the "image" of Jesus. He didn't even tell us who Jesus is, or even say who Christians believe He is. He told us who Mohammed is.
If you call Mohammed the prophet of Islam, then it only makes sense to call Jesus the Son of God or some other appellation that refers to His place in Christianity. There was no assurance to Buddhists, or Jews, either.
Obama is not so naive as to think that Christians worship an "image" of Jesus...

Yes, he did, but it was taken out of context. See my response above (and the link to YouTube where you can hear the whole passage in question).

Everyone out there should know by now (if they have two brain cells to rub together) that our dear president for life does not like what America stands for. He tells everyone that by being an Islamist he will garner all of the love from our self described enemies and make them love us.
What he is doing is formally making plans for a sharia compliant USA.
This is something that everyone should look at and realize he is not for us, at all.
Please watch the special on The Blaze, tonight and tomorrow for a little information about all of this.

He did say that after his inauguration the world would look different and America would look different.
Muslim Brotherhood working within the administration.
I challenge every one to research the Muslim Brotherhood's history. ALL of the terror and mideastern violence can be traced to them. They go back as far as the 1920s, collaberated with Nazis and have PROMISED to destroy Israel AND America. They already have pretty much taken charge in Europe.
And YES, watch the special on the Blaze. But if you cannot here is alink to a great history teacher on 1400 years of Muslim History.

This is a link to the Muslim Brotherhood's plan to subdue the West. Good special on GBTV, Glenn Beck's internet tv station.
