Smoking in public places

It not uncommon to think of smoking in public places. But I was wondering the kind of repercussion it causes to the health of the individual by the side of a person smoking. It is totally scornful to think of a person becoming a passive smoker due to the influence of someone who is an active smoker. I would strongly recommend banning of all smoking activities in public since it causes much havoc to even those who are ignorant of it

I don't think that people should be banned from smoking entirely, but they should not be able to do so if they are in a place where it could damage the health of another person. I had a friend who would smoke in front of us when we were younger and I hated it, because I am making a conscious decision not to smoke and she was basically blowing smoke in my face. People should be allowed to smoke in open spaces, but never inside when other people are around and not even at bus stops and places like that because the smoke might still upset the other people who are there.
