The current season

At the moment the current season in my home country is autumn. Yesterday afternoon it rained with great force very heavily indeed. I had to wade through deep puddles on my way to collect my daughter from her child minder. I couldn't believe the puddles on our way over to collect my disabled son from school. Today I bought a pair of wellington boots. The other day we got in two days a months worth of rain. One road near to where I live is closed because of flooding. It means a bridge over the railway has been closed so traffic is very much more busy than usual. Which season is it in your home country? Have you ever experienced very wet weather and way too much rain? Did your any of your area ever get flooded?

In my side of the planet, it's crazy lol! It should be the cold or wet season now, but surprisingly, afternoon are so hot like summer. We only have the wet and dry season here in the tropics. Hot and cold, summer and winter to use the language of those with 4 seasons. This morning, the air is cool and refreshing. But at 10AM, it's like the middle of summer. We did experience floods a few weeks ago due to some torrential rains.

I've never actually been flooded, but there was one time I turned around coming into my neighborhood because my car was so small and the water was curb high. Now, I lived in a house for 10 years and I told my mom when we moved out in 1973 that it would have water in it in 10 years, it was only 8.

Last weekend when we had all the rain, my mother was down in Somerset, and she said the flooding was terrible there! I can't believe we don't have measures to stop flooding, because it's not just a one off, as you know our British weather can be so changeable and with global warming on top, we should be more prepared. I love Autumn and for me it's the changing colour of the leaves that I like and the smell of the air, especially when bonfires are lit.

hi maximax, here in the philippines, it is typhoon season. lots of places especially in the luzon area gets flooded and sometimes we hear news of people drowning in the flood. the government is trying to find ways of how to contain the rain water up in the mountains and release them slowly so that flood is lessened and its casualties. we are doing better here in the south, in mindanao. i for one have not experienced a typhoon. in school we were told that we should be thankful for mt. apo, the highest peak in the philippines, for it shields us from the typhoons coming from the north. have a nice day. ann

It's supposed to be spring already here... But winter seems to linger. It's still very cold especially at night time and early morning; rains and storms are still coming too with hails at some places...

i actually saw pictures of areas in England where it was flooded on our (Canada) weather network. we get flooded in different parts of my city occasionally. both my boss and a co-worker has had their basement flood but fortunately, we have not had that. i love autumn here too as the nights are cool and the days are still warm and the leaves start turning those brilliant colours. i love to walk along and hear the leaves crunch under my feet!

I'm in San Jose, CA. The weather here is mild, its northern California so it gets hot in the summer but there is always a pool or beach close by so you can cool off. I've lived in Hawaii and it rained a lot but it was only for a little amount of time. You could almost set your watch to it. I've never been in a flood so to speak but living in Oklahoma I saw many news reports about lakes and rivers that had overflowed their banks.

At the moment it is autumn in Denmark. The weather is getting colder and we had to put the summer clothes away. We got a lot of rain in July and August and I was sad that we weren't able to spend much time outside because it was so cold and rainy. I feel that we haven't had much summer this year. In July there was a music festival on my island and one of the concerts was cancelled because of the rain. It rained very heavily. This summer some of the towns in my country were flooded. It wasn't so bad on my island, but on the neighbour island it was impossible to drive and the cars that were parked in those streets were covered in water and you could only see the top of the cars.

I live in Puerto Rico and we have supposely 4 seasons too. However, we never get snow and it never really goes down below 65 in my area. We have had alot of rain for the past three days. We get up in the morning and its beautiful sunny and quiet. Then about 1 or 2 in the afternoon it becomes cloudy, thundering and then it downpours. I can't complain though because it saves on us having to water our fruits and veggies. We have everything from avocados to tomatoes to breadfruit and starfruits growing in our backyard. I'm living here to excape the really cold weather that the united states has.

In the United States Midwest area we are in fall. This is my favorite time of the year, not to hot and not to cold. I prefer the weather to be a bit chilly. We have been in a drought all summer and now there is not much moisture for fall either. No flooding risks here this year. We did flood in my area in 2008 and my family lost everything we owed. We became homeless for 3 months while we tried to find a new place to live because our home was destroyed by high flood water from the river. This was very traumatic for me. I hope you don't get bad flood.
