Recent lost of a friendship over animal abuse

Have you ever ended a friendship abruptly? Why did you end it? I had a friend who asked me to cat sit for 2 weeks which i agreed to. once the cats were here it was obvisious to me that they were abused and neglected. They were very under nourished not to mention they were infested with fleas. They infested me cats and house. I did not get one applolgy nothing but rudeness and disrespect. I have since ended the friendship while keeping the cats. It was very sudden but i feel like i made the best decision.
