Jokowi It Will Take Governor's Salary and Allowances

If officially became the new governor of Jakarta later, Joko Widodo or Jokowi plan would not take a salary and benefits.
Reported by Tribunnews.com, Cagub carried by PDIP and Gerindra revelation confirms the winning post when found at Borobudur in Jalan 22, Menteng, Central Jakarta on Thursday, September 20, 2012.
According to him, the salary will be donated to charity.
"As long as there are poor, need ya let me wear a need," he said.
Although he likes to do social, but Jokowi expect if action is not misinterpreted by citizens of Jakarta.
"Do not be linked to personal matters. Yes it was the answer that, "he said.
This habit started when Jokowi served As with the Mayor of Solo. For seven years in office, he never even taking a salary with benefits which they are entitled. Even the same thing ever written by Domu D Ambarita, one of the authors Jokowi, banh Spirit Kali.
While serving as Mayor of Solo, he should be the salary per month is Rp. 7.25 million with a benefit worth more than Rp. 22 million. According Domu, Jokowi never take his salary, but the salary is to convert banknotes worth 10,000 to 50,000 was distributed to the very poor.
To support his family, Jokowi and wife have income from other businesses such as home and garden furniture and textiles long before it became the Mayor of Solo. With this effort, the needs are still being met especially Jokowi family business although they do still have to be a mayor.

You live in Jakarta, don't you? I hope in relatively short time you'd be able to update us here already on some positive improvements of Jakarta since Jokowi is in office... He seems to be a different leader; different due to some good qualities.

Oh, ok... So you belong to Tangerang? Still, you'll have a much nicer playground if Jakarta is improving. I believe you'd still be able to get benefits of any new improved Jakarta since Depok is in its vicinity. Even if you are from Depok, you probably go to Jakarta everyday for school or work or anything else, right...?

I know that Jokowi never took his salary when he was a City Major of Solo, not only he donated his salary to the poor but he also brought rice in plastic bags in his car and gave it to the poor people, everyday he filled his car with rice in plastic bags and distribute it to poor people. It is not something new and he has done it since he was elected as Solo City Major. In my opinion Jokowi and his wife are humble and modest, they dont live luxury life and they live from their business income not from his salary. Jokowi always proud wearing local products, his shoes is made in local (cibaduyut if im not mistaken) he said he bought the shoes when it was discounted 50%. Jokowi also like eats at lesehan food.Let's compare it to many elites politicians and their family's live style, they eat in expensive resto, they wear international brand clothes, shoes, bags.
During DKI Governor election and after he is announced as the winner by quickcount, the illwill people (Barisan Sakit Hati aka his opponent) tried badmouthing Jokowi, they said it is just his branding image's trick (Pencitraan) but come on...do we have suspecting everyone's good intention as branding image politic (pencitraan). We should know which one is a sincere person and which one is fake person. Jokowi isnt a perfect person, but he has so many positive attitudes.

It is easier to say that Jokowi should do this should do that but Jokowi has his own ideas on spending the money that supposed to be his salary, he has his own thinking plus whatever he wants to do with his supposed to be salary is his right, none should him what to do with it.
If we are talking about microbusiness fund (modal usaha kecil & menengah) there is also program for that, so maybe Jokowi dont want to mix it with his salary for charity/donation. That is right giving rice is temporary solution, but remember that hunger people needs foods and if they are starving they couldnt think or work on their micro business.

it will become the good example for another leader..
we still hope that there are good leader like him
if he really do it when he becomes Jakarta governor, the jakarta citizens will respect him..
i believe there are bigger changes if the leader can gives good example for his staff and people..
