I deleted my face-book account

Last night I deleted it, because several friends there told me over phone and via email that I am sending nasty stuff to them; though I never did, I felt so sad, well I used to add, who ever wanted to be my friend, that was an foolish act!!
I will make a new account and will be very selective in choosing friends.
I wonder who sent those things to my friends.
Are you selective in accepting friend requests?
Can anyone tell who sent those??
Thanks in advance.

hello dada,
Weeks ago when something happened to Facebook here in our country.
Hundreds or maybe thousands Facebook users here in our country had their account hacked at the same time.
I was one of those who almost lost my account.
I only had few number of friends in my account because my account is intended to communicate with my relatives and not to add friends or person that I don't know in person- that is the reason why my account is set to private.

There are times that I receive private messages which I know were not sent by my friends.
I just ignore them.
They are purely virus!

How comes a virus in facebook?
Facebook has a well defined wall to protect facebook from unwanted threads and unwanted viruses. Then how comes this. May be it can be some technical mistake. I think you should report it.

Nice if problem are arises then deletion is good choice uncle. But I never add any person as a friend whose I not know. Only my family members, my students, and some other knowing persons are my friend. I never add any stranger in my friend list.

I have also just deleted my tagged account. I joined tagged because of the games there. Little did I realized that the site was infested with scammers and people keep sending friends request. I really don't like receiving those uncensored pictures making me feel that I am morally cheap. But this is ttrld and the cyberspace is full or rubbish

I still have my Facebook account but with as little as I really use it, I might as well just delete mine too.
I used to do the whole "adding every random person" like that. But I stopped doing that though, especially with some of the stories I've read before on news sites such as federal agents here in the US creating fake profiles to spy on people. So yes, I guess I've become pretty selective.
There are people who, quite honestly, have no business sending a friend request to me, such as people who I have never met, spoken to, or even seen before.

I deleted my Facebook account a while ago. I think it invades your privacy far too much.
I can say that I don't miss it and I am lucky enough to see my friends and family every day so I don't need to talk to them on FB.
Like one of the others said, it does sound like your account was compromised. When I had my account, I kept the settings private and only accepted friend requests from people I know.

I had an office-mate then who discovered he has a facebook account where he supposedly posted comments and messages which are out of his character. People who resort to these uncalled for activities just to put others down is really disgusting.

Professor bhaiya:
Honestly I accept whenever requests are received. A boy became a friend and started tagging my name for many photos. I think it has stopped now. I use facebook for telling others about my blog.
I use to receive likes from unknown people and in return when I made friend request-- somebody has complained that I am making requests to unknown people--forgetting that they have made likes/comments in my postings-- so facebook has stopped my making requests for 30 days. absolutely no problem for me.
How to cancel a facebook account?

I just used to add those ones who are known to me. I do not used to add strangers to my account. I believe that such doings is just to increase in number of friends and i don't love to do so.

In my country facebook is banned so I can't use it and don't know much about it. But of course I'm selective in accepting friend request. I'll look at her profile, see if she has the same interests like me,and look through her dairy,be sure she is a healthy and postive person or have other strong points attract me.Then I'll be happy to be her friend and choose her.

Hi my friend, I am sorry what happened to your Facebook account. Mine was hacked at one time but I was informed by e-mail, so I went in and changed my password and got extra security, so now, if I try to log in using a different computer Facebook will detect a different IP address and I will need to receive a special code via text on my mobile phone, and that means that only I get get it. I thought it was a good security device and I've not had problems since - but I am "touching wood"... Hope you get it all fixed up.. _Derek

I have heard from a friend that something happened to her facebook. Well, since I am not afffected I didn'r ask more. I think it's better you make another one and select carefully.

Hello my friend Professor2010 Ji,
Well, I always follow my hubby and acced all requests without peeping into their profiles even. My hubby is of 'KUMBH' rashi and has very accomodative nature. But people should not encourage and propmote only e-earning, which we do not ask far and I may delete after 3-4 such requests.
May God bless You and have a great time

Yup! It's hard to share something because it might be misunderstood and go bad. Now, we have laws that really unacceptable for internet users. We don't just share something without any cautions.
If we post something which is not acceptable to others. We would be punish under the law...so, it's hard now to go on facebook and post anything.

Your account must have been compromised without your knowledge. Deleting the account is the best thing to do. But I hope you made your new Facebook account using a different email address, otherwise, whoever hacked your account, could get access to your new account as well.
