I'm getting tired. I am thinking of retiring but still wanted to have a brighter future ahead and one way of making sure of this is keeping my job. I'm getting tired of routines. get up, work, go home and sleep. thinking of tomorrows works makes me want to give up. I don't like routines, it makes me bored. I'm just 28 and got 5 years in service. the retiring age in my career is 60 and to be able to get what I saved for my retirement I should have at least 15 years in the service. This makes me sick!
How do you keep with routine job guys?
Please do help me on this. Thanks.

It is horrible when we feel as though we're bored at work, but unfortunately we have to work in order to earn the money that we all need so badly. It is a shame that you're so bored, and especially at the age of 28. Have you thought about changing your career at all? This might be the best thing that you could do if you're not happy, because at the end of the day you don't really want to be hating your career for the rest of your life. Surely it would be much better to retrain and then like the job that you eventually get rather than hate your job for the rest of your life as I imagine that would be something that would get very tiring.

If you're bored at work, I don't think you will giving it your best. while retraining might be an option, another is changing your place of work. first, why are you bored? don't like the job again - pissed off by colleagues - low pay - not exciting. try to understand why you are bored before taking any decision on a step to take.
being bored at work is not a good thing at all. your body might be at the work place but your mind is somewhere else. how can you ever find joy working?
yum!

It's on the routines I do on my job that makes me bored. I need to reconsider something..hehe

Sometimes I feel that way about job and I feel that I don't have the energy to get up and go to work and follow the same old routine. In that situation I usually try to find some small things that I enjoy about the job like the great music I listen to on the way to work and the view from the car (I live on an I island and work on the neighbour island and the view from the bridge is a beautiful) I also try to find other small things that I enjoy and it helps me get my energy back. I try to remind myself that I happy to have a job because it helps me pay the bills every month.

hi there!
I am also from an island but I ride a boat or a motorized boat to get to work. That's one thing that makes me bored, its a long ride. Well, I think I have to enjoy the trip just as you said. Thanks for sharing:D

I think that every employee feels that way at some point in their lives. And getting out of your present job wouldn't do any good. Coz if you will try to find a replacement job, you would also be feeling the same way after a couple of years, too. To spice things up, make some time to give yourself to relax whenever you can. Pamper yourself during weekends to relieve you from stress. A spa visit is the perfect way to escape.
I hope you can try that sometime.

It is pretty hard to continue doing something on daily basis over and over again. We did tackle this particular scenario in our organization behavior class wherein some employees tend to be bored in a particular job that keeps doing things repeatedly. My suggestion would be engaging yourself in business so that you can have something to earn additional money and free yourself from doing routine works.

hi there!
Yes, that would be of help. What kind of business would you suggest?
Thanks!
