To love music one should not have skills in playing musical instruments. My wife loves music although she can't sing well let alone play the instrument. I do sing songs well but can't play any musical instruments, either. I used to learn how to play the guitar but I did not continue it.
Some people don't like music at all. When the music is being played, it has no effect on them. If the music I like is being played, I feel that I am the one who sings it. What about you mylotters, do you feel the same when you listen to your favorite songs, you feel as if you were the singer in the band?

Yanza, same goes for me. I likes music quite a lot but i am not good at playing any musical instruments. In fact, i never take any interest in learning any of them. But, listening to music is my favorite way to overcome my stress. Besides that, it can relax my mind and easy to fall asleep. Even my child likes to listen to music before he falls asleep.

There is a little difference for me. I love listening to music only when I am happy and in a very good mood. When I am sad, I listen to nothing. My mind travels wishing I weren't that bad.

When i was young, i do have your type of character. And it makes me hard to recover myself from my sadness. I trained myself to overcome my sadness by listening to music. At least now, i don't have to feels sad for a very long time. I feels more refresh and relax, whenever i listen to music.

Yes. I love MUSIC soooo much but I can't sing well nor play any instrument. Well, I kinda know how but I didn't pursue playing though.
I feel somewhat similar. It's like when I close my eyes, I see the story flashing through me. That's what I feel when I listen to Music. I feel like the musical instruments have a life.
I also love to listen non-stop to a song and critic everything about it. Like the arrangements, the tone of the bass and the electric guitar. The speed and heavy beats of the drums, the brands of the instruments, the range of the voice of the singer or vocalist and the type of voice he have. Also the lyrics, if it is well-written and the equipments used.
I love it sooo much!

That's what my wife feels too. She can't sing well nor can she play any musical instruments. She just likes listening to some old songs and tries to immitate the sound.
We have two daughters, one of whom is good at singing. We wish we could send her to musical school in the afternoon.

Our family likes listening to music, and we like singing along to them as well. We really appreciate music a lot we can't be in a car without any music at all. None of us plays any musical instrument but that doesn't make us less of a music lover.

My wife love listening to music. She can't sing well. Her voice will be out of tune when she sings any songs. I do sing well, in fact. I should have developed it. One of daughters can sing well. I do not know whether I need to send her to a music school or not.
For me, it is not a must to listen to music in a car. I love quietness in a car. Happy mylotting, toni.

Hi,
I also love music. Like to listen the songs but I can't play any musical instrument. In my younger age I used to play an instrument called 'Bulbul Tarnang'. But now it is outdated and so now I can't play any musical instrument. But my son can play guitar and synthesizer and he loves music very much. He is God gifted. He play music n his own and he haven't join any class for learning. He can play any song.

Ask him to cultivate that talent. He may turn into one of the best in the world. We have seen many examples of successful people because they have cultivated what they can do well.

Sometimes I do feel as if I was singing in the band or even in it lol. But I use to play clarinet for a semester back in grade school. I dated a musician for two years and went to a performing arts high school full of musicians so I was around them. I understood musical instruments and playing it, but definitely not to the extent that musicians know about it. I know it takes a lot of time to get to where you want to be (i.e., starting off with a simple string guitar before moving on to the bass and electric), and I LOVE MUSIC thanks to my dad's great taste in music. He knows about musical instruments way more than I do though.
But I agree, you don't have to have skills in playing instruments to love music.

In my family, I am the one who can sing well.My wife doesn't seem gifted but she loves listening to songs. My two kids are crazy about listening to Justin's songs. I noticed one of them has talent as a singer. I will see about that later.

I understand you perfectly. But if you want to learn a instrumetn you should get back to the guitar. Don't play from tabs. Try to play from notes and learn it. I learn to play to guitar because i want learn to play at 4 string bass guitar. So, good luck! Keep focused on your way.

Exactly.
My son loves music and can play guitar and drums but he cannot sing well.
There is no requirement to love or appreciate music.
Although, everyone has different likes and types of music- from love songs, slow rock, mellow, country, rnb and etc.

Music is something to enjoy. Some musical performances are free, while others require payments.

You are lucky to be gifted in music. You shouldn't have separated from your friends. I know many bands always end up breaking off in the end. There are only a few who can stay together till all members are too old to play.

It just so happens that not all are that disciplined when it comes to learning a musical instruments. It is of human nature to avoid difficulties while enjoying some of its contents.

I think all who are skilled in music performers are talented. If we aren't, I don't think we will go a long way in a musical career.

There are just different kinds of music-lovers. Some can sing, some can play, some simply listens. Music is an art that touches our souls.
I can play a guitar 'coz I really have the will to play with the strings. I had that drive of learning to play the song myself so I tried my very best to learn it.
Guess it all depends on the person, how he/she feels the music. If he can express himself through singing, playing or just listening then so be it.
What's important is we find a source of happiness through music.

I love music! I also play an instrument.. Well technically, I play 2 while learning 2. I play flute and piccolo (piccolo being my favorite). I am currently learning guitar and piano. I started teaching myself the keyboard some years ago when I first asked for one. A few years later I asked for an acoustic guitar and got it for Christmas. :) It's fun learning new instruments but it's not as fun when learning 2 at the same time and at such fast paces. Me studying music therapy, I had to learn both guitar and piano. I thought I would enjoy it.. But I don't at all. I have way too many classes to practice everyday like I would want to in order to really master these instruments to the best of my ability and it goes too fast for me too. When I'm learning something that I can't grasp right away, I like to take my time. With these classes, I can't really do that.. So it gets frustrating for me sometimes. I've noticed though when I hear a song I really like, I try to decipher the different instruments and sometimes I try to play the melody on my flute. I'm also teaching myself one of my favorite Frank Ocean songs on piano just for fun because I love the harmony of the song. It's so beautiful. If you can, I would highly suggest learning the piano because it's an amazing instrument. While your at it, maybe if you have some time you can pick back up on the guitar too. :) I also sing (for fun) and dance too. I don't necessarily feel like the singer of the band but I do think I'm the main star of the show and dance to the song(s). I try to make up my own choreography to match the music lol. It's all about having fun to me! Enjoy your music!!

You are different from me. When I am frustrated, I can't listen to music. I listen to it when I am happy.

I dont think that this world is containing people who dont like music at all, in my opinon this is impossible, we can't talk about music in a general way because there are a lot of types of music rock - house ... and evryone has his style even if he doesnt know how to play an instrument ( the mouth is also considered as an instrument to me )
Even when people are talking normally actually they are into singing ...
To me behind many songs there are a lot of memories maybe good ones or even bad ones.
I dont think i am the only one wh is feeling this ? ;)

There are some songs that will remind me of my past. Every time I listen to one of them, my mind travels back to the past--happy and bad times.
