Recently on my cousins marriage I have recorded some videos. Now I want to prepare a video disk using those videos. But there are few parts of the videos that has to be removed. Hence I am looking for a software that can help me doing so.
Are there any freeware which can help me cut or join videos according to my requirement.

Hi,
I am working in a MS environment so I would recommend to you the built-in movie maker that comes with the Windows-XP installation package. It can be accessed on the start menu and choosing all programs. Or you could go for the U-Lead Video Editor, available for download in any software sharing site. For more advanced effect, try Vegas Pro version 9, but I warn you that the interface require some getting use to, it is a bit difficult to navigate at first sight. Once you get the basics, its show time in no time at all. We do that all the time here, video productions, graphics, credits and all.

Is it possible to get Vegas Pro for free? Or are you suggesting the free version? Good day!

I am using Windows 7 (64 bit) on my laptop. I will try Vegas Pro version 9. And if I feel it convenient then will continue with it. Is it a freeware or just for trial. As most of the trial software again leave some water mark and I don't want anything like that.

I'm on W7 64-bit as well. My laptop came pre-installed with Vista. Later I upgraded my system. In Vista Movie Maker is in-built.

HJSplit is helpful to split or join a split file. According to the discussion, I think this user needs a video editor. Suggest a good video editor and help him out. Good day!

I am looking for a freeware. And I have mentioned it in the discussion i.e. while starting it. Do you think Adobe Premier a freeware? I know many software which are not a freeware and can edit a video without loosing it's clarity to a greater extent.
