I have a couple of friends who invite me to the movies. I like the big screen and the whole works. Many times they also invite me for diner out later and other times I invite them to have something at my home while we talk about the movie.
This time the movie was a british movie. It`s called Salmon fishing in the Yemen and it has drama and romance, two things we women like a lot. THe male actors are all attractive and the girl is beautiful. Even though I would not say it`s a mayor film, I had lots of fun.
Do you like to see nice, light, movies once in a while that just leave you satisfied and will not make you think a lot? I do. I have my own list of such films and I like to see them again once in a while

I think that the last horror movie I saw was a long time ago. I belong to the generation of psychological thrillers and horror movies such as Rosemary`s baby

It's nice to be able to go out & see a movie once in a while. However, due to the expense, I'm saving the theater for those films that promise nice special-effects, i.e. fantasy, sci-fi adventure, and the like. Drama or comedy films I'm content to see on DVD or on cable. For munchies, I prefer home-cooked popcorn & hot cocoa/tea, which I won't get in the theaters.

No kidding! Last time I went there to watch Avengers, I paid close to $10 for a hotdog and a medium-size drink (which I had to buy as it was my lunch). Good thing my movie ticket was free. Plus, I can flavor the popcorn anyway I want to, and stay away from the cholesterol-laden, carcinogenic buttery flavor they have.

I don`t think that we could make homemade foods as unhealthy as those bought fast foods even if we tried. I make french fries at home once in a while, but I use good oil. As for hotdogs, I have my own brand of weenies (the most expensive though) but when I make them at home, they are a lot cheaper anyway.

I`m sure that homemade popcorn and other goodies made by you are a lot better than the ones you can buy at a cinema and much cheaper

It has actually been quite a while since I've had the opportunity to have a movie night. However, I will agree with you that sitting at home and watching a movie with friends is a great way to have a good time and also not spend a lot of money. I used to be one of those people that really enjoyed going to the theater to see a movie but these days this is something that I rarely do because of the fact that movies at the theater are so very expensive these days.

It seems to me that tickets are more expensive in the US than in my country. But still now I see a lot more movies at home than at the cinema anyway bacause I don`t like going to the cinema by myself.

Hi, i am not movie person at all. My last movie which i watched in theater was in 2007, i watch movies at home sometimes. Instead of spending time on watching movies ,i like to spend my time on the beach or some park ,or any place with lots of greenery. If i go to the movies my friends start talking only about the female or male actors, their make up style etc etc, which i feel very boring, i notice only the direction, the story how its taken forward and written, and lot of technical things. If i start noticing all these things, and i didn't like some of the things, i get very bored, because it happened many times, my friends enjoyed watching the movie and i fell asleep. When they start discussing the movie ,outside, i don't understand anything lol

I think that there are movies for every taste. There are some movies which bore me a lot, but others I love watching. I`m not very much interested in the actors` make up, but of their acting. I follow certain directors and actors usually. Sometimes though, some friends take me to watch a movie I would not go by myself. But being with friends is nice.

yes of course i agree, we should spend time with friends too. But movies lol, see girls like a lot of romance stuff and all very few girls like action movies, and i am one of them. In fact i have never found at least one in my friends group who like action movies, so i watch them at home, i never force them as majority of them are not into action movies and lot of them cry if they see some blood and fights. So if i like to spent my time with friends ,its better do that way. I don't like to get into unnecessary arguments. Most of the time i am very calm going. so my friends dont have any problem. They just plan and tell me ,where to go and meet on that particular day. i will be there on time.

I`m a 67 year old "girl" who loves a good thriller. The enphasis I want is in the word "good". There are many movies of different kinds (romantic, action, drama, whayever)that are awesome. Others, no matter what their genre, are boring.

movie watching is indeed one of the most interesting past time that everyone enjoy doing. watching a nice movie just make your day complete if you are going for a day out with friends or family members. I enjoy watching good movies regardless of their genre. Good movies should be appreciated.

I have always enoyed watching movies too. There are movies that I consider classics and I watch them from time to time. With the possibility of renting old movies at Blockbusters, we can see again movies that we saw decades ago.

I understand that. When my husband was ill, we did not want to see terrible or very difficult films, no matter how good they were. We wanted to forget for a while the bad part of life.

I prefer movies with meaning. My favorite is Forest Gump. I think many know that movie.
I also like Benjamin Button. Comedy movies make me laugh, but, I like them less.
I like movies that make me wonder about what life is all about. What is the right thing to do. There is much more to talk about after seeing movies like that. Don't you think, Marguicha ?
I also like action movies with a hero that saves lives, many explosions, bad guys being kicked and learn a lesson... :)

I loved Forrest Gump too. It had the complexity that life has. I used to go a lot with my husband to the movies and then we`d come home and talked about them while on the way home. Sometimes we went with friends and we either went somewhere for something or we came home with them. Now that I`m a widow, I do the same although not so often. I like all types of movies, as long as they are well made. I haven`t even grown out of children`s movies

Romance and drama are my favourites too! I really like the concept of watching movies that help me relax an have fun, especially after a long day. My boyfriend only likes action films or intense stories so I watch most of the dramas and romantic films alone or with my girl friends. I always appreciate a great storyline and a top movie, but sometimes I just need to empty my mind and forget about everything that stresses me so the idea of a light movie with cute actors sounds amazing!

As the movie ended (Fishing salmon in the Yemen) I told my male friend that I was aware that this was a movie that women liked more. His wife also liked it a lot. My friend was happier though because after the cinema I invited them over for cocktails and made an awesome piƱa colada for him

Hi marguicha! I love to watch movie also. Most of the time I will watch it with my children. We love to watch fantasy movies. It's one activity that I love. However, as of now I was not able to watch movies because my training has just ended so I am planning to buy DVD copies to watch those movies that I missed at home.
Have a nice day!

I like to watch movies and the less expensive way to do it is to watch DVDs at home. But I love to go to a cinema once in a while. For me it`s an special outing and most of the times it ends up with another kind of splurge.

I much prefer a movie with friends so that we can talk about it afterwards. It`s even better if we either go somewhere to eat or we come home where I always have yummy food I make for those occations.
