How do you make your weekend special?

I like weekends even though sometimes I am busier in weekends than weekdays. Sundays are my favorite. Usually after hearing mass (this the first thing we do on Sundays),
My mom and I would buy bread from the stand in bakery by the church. The bread and pastries were made by seminarians, baked just right and low in sodium.Very healthy. Then my mom would cook a special dish. I can say that food brings us together on Sunday. No matter how simple it is. After eating I lay down while watching a Sunday variety show or movie. Then afternoons are also spend in praying. I am a practicing Catholic so these make my weekend special.Spending time with God and family.

I love weekends best too, especially Sunday. Beginning Friday night into Saturday is when I unwind from the week's work, by doing things I like such as sleeping in late, a little bit of gardening, going sight-seeing, shopping, and maybe visit with friends and relatives. Then Sunday is the day I love most. We'd go to Church as a family, then the whole family would gather in my parents' house for lunch and just spending time with each other for the whole day doing whatever as a family. Like I said, I love Sunday :)

While I was reading your response, I first thought that you were a Filipino.Turned out that you were from Malaysia. I think Asians are family centered.

I think so too, generally speaking of course. I know my parents and my friends' parents always try to teach us that family is the most important people in our lives and that each time spent with family is to be enjoyed and treasured. Other people in our lives come and go, but family sticks around for as long as you have one. Quite cheesy comment, lol, but I find to be true. Which is why I enjoy Sunday with family :)

I love weekends too! I hate it when I have schedule of overtimes, even if my office mates tell me it's compensated- I tell them I don't need much, enough is okay and that worthwhile activities with family and friends can never be bought by money.. I started the Saturday by waking up later than weekday waking hours! LOL.. Help my mom at home and bonding w/ the family. Go to the dept. store w/ my sister then practice with the church music team at night. Sunday morning will be church time too ;) Am a Pentecostal Christian and afternoon will be our Youth activity and evening we have Evening Service..
Just with these activities, I feel like the weekend is too short. Whenever I got overtimes, I feel sad not being able to do any of my usual weekend activity. I love being with my family and church friends. I just can't imagine how other people live , staying more of their hours out of their homes.. but anyway it's their way of living =)
Cheers and have a fine Sunday eve :)

Well, for me, this Sunday is very special.
My boss requests a few of us to return to work due to a ridiculous project deadline. This Sunday happens to be the mid autumn festival.
It is one of the rare times when I have to work on a weekend, and I do not look forward to it.

As I am always busy with my kids, I seldom see the difference between weekends and weekdays. However, weekends do give me a little time to breath, because there I don't need to rush as there is no school. However, if I and my kids need to go their grandparent's house, then I would need to prepare everything we need and travel for over an hour. I really love weekends if I stay at home as it's a great time to chat wisth my sister and friend over a cup of coffee. Sunday is very much anticipated, too, because Fr.Mario gives such a good sermon.

i like it when it is saturday. my family would go on mall strolling, out even out of town trips. it's just a day when you don't think of weekdays yet. sundays are like a lazy day for us. after church in the morning, we lunch out. then will go home directly at home. the rest of the afternoon will be siesta. some of the family members will be preparing for mondays.

For me Sundays is the most lazy day of the weekend becuase the shops on our locality are closed and the vehicles on the road are very less. More over the people on the roads are very less. This makes me very sad and I just used to do something according to my mood on those days, only if my friends are not free

Nice. This is typically a Filipino way of spending weekends. We really have close family ties and most of the time it is the food that brings us together with our family.

Weekends are physical activity days for me. On weekends, I go out jogging or biking. I bring with me foods and drinks. During the day we have two sessions of praying to God--at 12 and at 3:30 pm. I am still able to do these obligations outside my house. I usually get back home before 12, actually. So, praying to God can be done at nearby mosques.
Weekdays are time for earning money for the family. I spend most of my hours working. Evening times are spent for resting and family gathering at home.

Belle, weekend is always special to me and family because we can spend family time together. My son is free from his study. and my husband is free from his workloads. We can go shopping or sight-seeing together when we don't do any house cleaning. When we see our home is too dusty, we would use our weekend as a day for house cleaning. Because on the other weekdays, i have other matters which need to be attended. Have a nice weekend, friend...

I have not been very well this weekend so far, I have also been in bed most of the day.But usually I like to spend the time with my children, as they are so funny, other than when they argue.
I feel that life is too short and we should all try top make the most of each others company while we can.
I have a lay in on a weekend usually, trying to catch up on the sleep that I have not had all week.

For us, every weekend is very special. We make our weekends special by spending a lot of time with each other. During the week, my husband goes to work and my two children are at school so we don't get to spend a lot of time together. However, during the weekend, there is nothing that is required by us, so we try to do a little something special. For example, our church's fall festival was the weekend, so we went over there for a couple hours and had some fun together. It is something simple, but it is also something that is memorable for our family.

By going out with friends or hanging out with my brother. I go to church with my Mum and brother, either Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning. Saturday afternoon my Mum cooks lunch and Sunday evening my brother does the cooking. On saturday evening if I am not going out with friends, I watch movies in bed.I am also a catholic and I am proud to be a christian. God should always be the center of my family. :)

i make my weekend special in making things that i have never done before, like biking, hang out with friends, and also to spend time with my family, because that's the only day where you can enjoy the rest of the week. but also, we cannot do it by ourselves, that's why we have them in our life. right?
...good day!...

My weekend is spent with my daughter. We go to the park, swimming, lunch at my grans, see my sisters and their children - it''s a lot of fun and I enjoy spending the time with my family and as I'm a single mother it makes things a little easier for me when I have the support of my family around. Though mostly I just enjoy spending time with my daughter since she is at nursery all day during the week!

Hi,
Weekend is always special for us because my son come to meet us on weekend. He is my only son. He is staying away from us due to his job. My wife and I always miss him. When he is with us my wife prepares delicious food for him. We can not go out together because my wife has difficulty in walking. So we enjoy fun in the house only. And those days are very happy weekend for us.
