hello friends,
When ever i use the mats and coils for the mosquito's ,some burning sensation starts in my throat, i came to know that they are not good for our health. similar with liquid i cant tolerate the smell. I even heard that its carcinogenic. I just want to know , am i the only one who face this problem ,or else other people also face it. But what is the other option , for killing the mosquito's? If we leave them , we get malaria ,typhoid and other problems. friends please share your views.

I stopped using the chemical spray this year by using a natural way to repel mosquitoes, but not kill them. This spray is a witch hazel base with various essential oils, and though I did have to spray myself a little more often, I loved that it was not a chemical and it smelled so much better...

I belive or i feel that there are some disadvantage of the coils and the mats which we used to run the mosquitoes away from us. Normally my father uses mats in my room before he sleeps. I really feels little uncomfortable to sleep with such a unpleasent smell.
Now we just use electric bats to kill them. I think they are much better because they do not emit soughts of smells

A couple of days ago there was a post at mylot about a homemade device to drown mosquitoes. It seemed quite intelligent and safe. All liquids and coils are toxic and it depends on each person how toxic they are. I would advise you to check on this post. It was written under "questions and answers".

Prashu..there was a time when they said use methods like pouring oil over the stagnant water to prevent mosquitoes from breeding. :) But now we know they can breed even in fresh water. I for some strange reason am immune to almost all mosquito borne diseases. All my cousins suffered with malaria at one time, but not me. When I die I will leave my body for genetic analysis..lol
Serious stuff..yes..they are toxic. Should we use them? I think it depends upon how large is ur room and how long you use them and how close to the mosquito repellents you sleep. Try using fan at full speed on you. That might be better. As Marguicha pointed out, reactions differ from person to person because of our genetic variations. If you do have that smell problem..full speed fan would be my suggestion.

prashu:
Some people are allergic these mosquito repellents and it is better they do not use it. for example coils -- avoid. you can use Banish or Goodknight mosquito repellent that comes in liquid form.
Another super solution -- Take a glass of water -- put two camphor tablets inside that and keep that in a corner of bed room. You will be surprised to see that there are no mosquitoes. I enjoy that camphor smell that emanates on it being put in water and that acts as a repellent of mosquitoes.
please try and post feed back. I found it is useful.

Hi friend, as you mentioned you are not comfortable with mosquito mats and coils, why don't you use the liquids? hope it don't give any problems to you. I am using Good knight liquid for my mosquito protection and don't have any problem with it, also i have the ability to tolerate the mats and coils

Hi,
In our city also we have the problem of mosquitoes. They are very dangerous to our health. I have problem with the mosquito coil. It;s smoke goes directly to our throat and feel very restless. We have to kill the mosquitoes otherwise we have to face many diseases. We use the sprays. We sit in one room and use spray in other rooms to kill mosquitoes. We keep the doors of those rooms shut for sometime. We don't sit in the room where the spray is spread. I think it is only the solution.
