In 2005 I sailed from Hanstholm in Denmark to Bergen in Norway. I was surprised that the trip was so beautiful. I really enjoyed the view from the ferry and I took a lot of pictures on the way to Bergen. I think that it is the most beautiful ferry journey I have experienced so far. I would like to visit Norway again, because I have never been to the northern part of Norway.
I also enjoyed the ferry journay from Stockholm to Helsinki, but I think that the trip between Denmark and Norway was more beautiful.
In December I am going on a ferry journey in Halong Bay in Vietnam and I think that will also be a very memorable and beautiful trip.
Which ferry journey did you enjoy the most? And what makes that journey especially memorable? Which ferry journeys do you plan in the future?

hi porcospino.
ferry trips are aplenty here in manila. there is one that i've been to a number of times already. it is the daily ferry trip from manila bay to the island of corregidor. the whole ferry trip lasts for maybe one hour and forty five minutes up to two hours. then there is the day tour around the island of corregidor.
there are also sunset cruises in manila bay. prices vary depending on the cruise company and the other activities that are included in the cruise.
as for future cruise plans, i was actually looking at a couple of cruise packages but can't find something that i prefer. might go ahead and visit corregidor again. during halloween, they offer 'ghost hunting' trips across the island. that would be a different experience.
cheers and happy mylotting!!!

hi porcospino.
yes, the ferry trips are indeed interesting. there is actually a cruise liner that services the islands of the country. the prices are actually too steep for my taste so i did not further look into it.
anyway, been looking for cheaper ones as i really want to take my wife on a cruise, even a local one. the ghost hunting trip is a different experience indeed. one of my co-workers was able to attend to one and it did have its spooks and chills. anyway, if our schedule permits it, we will be going to this one this year.
cheers and happy mylotting!!!

The ferry trips from Manila sound very interesting. I would like to go on one of those ferry trips when I visit the Philippines. I think that would be a great way to explore the country and I would like to see as much as possible during my trip there. We have some cruises in my country as well, because there are many small islands in the area where I live, but those cruise are really expensive so I never really considered joining one of them. It is much cheaper to buy an ordinary ferry ticket and the explore the tickets on our own. The ghost hunting trips sounds like a different experience. I like halloween a lot and last year I visited the horror nights on my island.

Hey great to hear that u had a great time taking a ferry journey. Ferry journeys are always special in one way or the other as they tend to take u much more closer and deeper into the beauty of nature and keeps u engaged in a different world.
Well i had taken a ferry journey where we had to cross a river to visit a temple and i had many fond memories of that journey as it was my first ferry journey and we all had lots of fun taking snaps, throwing water on each other and most importantly, spending quality time with the nature.

I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your first ferry journey. It sounds like you had a great time. I agree with you about ferry journeys. You are close to nature when you travel that way and you are able to enjoy the the beautiul view from the ferry. I think that it is one of the advantages about that kind of trips. When I travelled on the ferry between Denmark and Norway I also took a lot of pictures, and I was surpriced that the view from the ferry was so beautiful. In the future I would like to visit Denmark to Iceland and I think that will be a beautiful trip as well.

Thanks a ton for your response again. Yes very well pointed out, ferry journeys are the most enjoyable journeys and u have no boundaries or limits around u whereas in case of a train, car or flight journey u are forced to view nature by sitting only. u can move around, take snaps of whatever u like, feel that air gushing through your body while on a ferry trip and most importantly u can throw water on each other. He he.

In 1990 I sailed from Turku in Finland to Stockholm in Sweden. I think that it was a very picturesque journey. The ferry went past some lovely looking little islands. On that same trip I went to beautiful Bergen in Norway. I hope that you will really enjoy your ferry journey from Halong Bay in Vietnam this December.
My favorite trip by ferry happened in 1989. I was aged 17 years old and I sailed by ferry from Kent in England to the southern part of the Netherlands. We shared a cabin and the ferry had an indoor swimming pool. Then we caught a train to Amsterdam. I prefer to take the train than the ferry. I am not planning another ferry trip anytime soon.
In the future I would like to do an island hopping and snorkeling trip in the Philippines.

It is great that you had the chance to visit all of the Nordic countries on the same trip. I visited both Norway, Sweden and Finland the same year, but not on the same trip. I went to Norway in June and to Sweden and Finland in December. I celebrated New Year's Eve on ferry from Finland to Sweden. It was a different way to celebrate New Year's Eve, but I enjoyed the celebrations on the ferry. I am excited about the ferry trip on Halong Bay this year. It looks like a really beautiful place and I plan on taking many pictures.
I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your trip to the Netherlands. I also visited the Netherlands in the late 80's, but I didn't go to Amsterdam. My parents, their friends and I visited some of the other places in the Netherlands at that time. I was 11 or 12 and I don't remember much from that trip so I look forward to spending a couple of days in the Netherlands in November.

Wow! I can imagine how much fun you had watching the view. I envy you for that. I also haven't taken a ferry ride. I'm planning of taking my partner though to try it here. But I think the view is more enjoyable there.:)

Yes, it was a lot of fun. We spent a lot of time outside because we wanted to enjoy the view and take pictures. I had never really been to Norway before and I was surpriced that the view from the ferry was so beautiful. In the future I would like to travel by ferry from Denmark to Iceland, from Iceland to the Faroe islands and from the Faroe islands back to Denmark. I think that will be a lot of fun as well. Have a great ferry ride with your partner

I really admire you have such a nice trip. Always, I have the urge to travel to the distance alone, however, I often don't have the courage in the end. Wish you have a pleasant journey next time...
