Today I was moving some old boxes and while going through the old stuff I found my old Game Boy. And there was the first video game I've ever played in my life- Super Mario Land from 1989. Found some batteries, fired it up and I was really surprised how good the game is even by today's standards. Graphics are simple but nice, music is great and sound effects are cool but the gameplay is so good that it still remains one of the best games I've ever played and I'm not exaggerating. It's a game that doesn't age. It's kinda funny that it's the only Super Mario game I've ever played to this day. Maybe I should find some modern Mario.
Do you remember your first video game? Tell me about it.

That is definitely a blast from the past, my gaming didn't start that far back but I remember my first two gaming experiences. For Gameboy it was Pokemon Blue and PC was Dungeon Keeper for me.
Pokemon became my favourite gameboy game by far, I think something like 80% of all my games were Pokemon related in the end. As far as Dungeon Keeper goes I still install it and the sequel at least a few times a year to play them again (pity I can do them with my eyes closed now though). Good times!

Pokemon Blue was the first Game Boy game I bought for myself. All the games I got before were gifts. Remember playing Dungeon Keeper 2 but never tried the first one.

My first video game was either super mario brothers 3 which my brother got for a christmas or a birthday present I was only 3 years old myself at the time I remember because I was very sick when I was little and I remember him struggling with the very first goomba on the very first level of the first world! Quite funny when you think about how advanced games have become and the controls now have more than 6 buttons.
I also spent a lot of time with grandparents over the Summer at their caravan though and remember playing a lot of pacman at the back of the caravan shops and pubs while my brother and grandad played pool and my dad would play it with me as it was something like 20p a go or something. I know the only game he can play now must be wario ware on the Wii as the controls aren't that complicated. Though I guess that video games always make me feel nostalgic and hold good memories for me especially the retro ones form the 80s and 90s.

Me and my sister were the same. She always used to watch me play.
I also used to play arcades at the mall way before I got my Game Boy so technically they were my first games.

If you break it through the platforms, for me it would be:
Game Boy - Super Mario Land
Sega Mega Drive - Sonic The Hedgehog 2
PC - Prince of Persia
And my all time favorite game is Quake

Let me think....the first video game I actually recall playing, and not just watching, was probably Legend Of Legaia for the PS1. It was an amazing game, but not a lot of people had heard of it. Very innovative combat system, definitely worth looking up. In fact, I still play it to this day. Can't figure out how to upload an image for it though. :

I was trying to think back that far and I remember having a Gameboy and a Gamegear when I was about 10,a Super Nintendo when I was about 11. I remember playing many hours of Tetris on my gameboy as well as Sonic the Hedgehog on the Gamegear. I don't exactly remember the title of the Super Nintendo game but I know Yoshi was in it. Now that I think about it, I also remember my Gamecube (mastered Madden on that) and my Playstation 1 (the only game I really played on that religiously was Sim City 2000..wow, now I feel super old..lol
