If Government Sets Rules on Social Networking

As we all know, social networking is everyone's new pastime nowadays. Facebook, Twitter, and etc. Some people would like to post how they feel about a certain thing, someone, place, or event. They would like to upload their pictures for everyone to see where they went. Others would advertise the stuff they have for sale. And so forth... However social networking has also been a source for bullying or destroying reputations. As days go by, it's getting worse and worse. Perhaps, there will come a certain point that it's going to be considered a norm. Or has it already come to that point? What do you think about the government interfering with social networking? Setting rules on what to say, what to post, what to advertise, and so on? But will that take away our freedom to express ourselves? Or will it only help us realize that we can express ourselves in a manner that won't hurt anyone? I would welcome opinions and comments about this matter!
