Your reaction when some one praises you.

It is common that we get both praises and ctritisms quite often in our day to day life. It is very simple that most of the times we do not like if somebody critisizes us. So our reaction can be easily judged in such cases.
However, it is also not very uncommon that we get some praises from some other people. Then in such cases, how do you react?

I used to think about what to say and the time passed and I said nothing. Probably I blushed. THat was a long time ago. With age I began to realise that people wanted to say that to me and I accepted it, saying thank you to the person who praised me. Of course I feel very happy and grateful

Yes, the age and experience teaches you many things. You have learnt many things with your experience and so it is great pleasure reading what you want to say about different things. It is really very interesting to find an experienced person like you sharing knowledge and experiences here on MyLot.
One should be greatful to those who praise one. It gives great pleasure when you are praised by someone, especially if that person is not known to you...! Because such praise is without any expectations in return..!

Well, I will be overwhelm when someone will praise me for whatever reason but it depends upon the way you/they will praise me.If I feel those praises straight from my heart then it will be a sincere praise. Almost all of us can or may recognize the sincerity and insincerity of one particular commendation.

Yes, if one can recognise if the praise comes from heart or from brain or only from mouth, then it is quite desireable for that person.
However, at times we do not have that time to check if the praise is comming from heart or not...! Many times people praise just out of emotions and there is no sincere thing in such praises. We must be able to find if they are the words which are felt by the heart of the speaker or they are just trying to trap the person by the use of beautiful words.

I feel happy and loved. I just smile and say thank you. It is the best feeling somebody can experience. I wish I could acquire praises every day to brighten up my days. I also like to give praises to others, I like the look on their faces when I praise them.

Years ago,my reaction was to be modest.
Later,I would share with them where I bought it when I was praised by my beautiful clothes.
But now,I prefer to say thank you,which means what you said is worthy,both of us are so happy after heard that,why not do as that?
