Those are really rampant emails of online scams. Had lots of them in my 9 years internet staying LOL.. I've got all kinds of situations :
1. Winning a lottery = I did not even joined one. LOL
2. Someone asking help because he lost his baggage and all personal details, can't contact family #s and all = but how come he can use internet and contact other people sending emails for help? LOL!
3. Someone who got robbed at a different country while on travel, lost his everything and etc.. so asking for help via email= if I was on his situation, it's better go to the police station, tv/radio station for complaint or directly go to the embassy! LOL
4. Charity donations request = who would believe any request from unknown and non visible people?
But the fact that they are very active, means there are people believing them still..
Sad we can't trace them, and especially we don't know how they got our email addresses.
We just can't figure out which SITES we're member of is selling email addresses. lol!

This a type of SPAM which I think every person in this world who use emails have received at least once in their life time. I to get such occasionally. Till now I haven't been able to create a filter for such type of mail such that they can be avoided from reaching my Gmail Inbox and instead deleted. I have tried create filter with different keywords, but never got 100% success.

I have experienced that many times too. Don't ever try to open them and just delete them right away. It may give you virus and malware in your computer.
