Now a days..
I can't sleep well. When I sleep even for 5 minutes the dreams will enter in to my sleep and disturbs me.So that when I wake up at morning,I don't get a feeling of a long sleep.Do you know the reason of this thing?? My mom says that this is because of some physical problems.Means the health problems. Is it true?? I don't think so.Do you have any experience like this? your suggestions please..

I dream too. My dreams are so vivid that I can narrate them clearly. I mostly dream about going through hard terrains, or steep climbs, walking on a narrow bridge with no supports with water underneath. The plus points of these dreams are that when I wake up I am so happy that they were just dreams!

Here you do have a very good sleep pattern. But I think my friend is having sleep disorders. I guess its just her feeling that its because of her dreams. i too have had nightmares and got up in the middle of nights. But these things occur occasionally and not as frequent as it is mentioned here.

To ensure sound sleep one must keep oneself physically active during the day. Dreams I am told depend on what we eat during the day although I have not made a study about it. I too feel the same way as you do. When I am awake I think it is time to get up but realise it is still early to do so.Rather than trying to sleep I do some physio therapy exercise that are done lying down.
But nothing to worry. A cup of hot tea will set everything right. I look foward to the day that is waiting for me as I always have something exciting in store!

sometimes we get up so early say 4 o clock or so and think it may be 6 am. but it turns out to be 4 am. you get disturbed sleep and feel as if you have not slept. this problem may be there for a few minutes but once you brush your teeth and also wash your face, take a cup of strong coffee/tea you will be alright.

Can you still remember what you dreamed about? Sometimes there are dreams that keep on troubling us because it has something to tell us. Something that is about to happen and we are warned. It maybe in different dreams, situations, but it has the same meaning.

I would say you wouldnt get much help with that. Because dream interpretation is still a n ongoing research area. People do have their own opinions and they are not complete. it is said that even whatever Sigmund Freud had told about dreams are not completely true. Its a very big fie4ld and people keep guessing in all directions.

Most of the time I forget what I dreamed about. But on occasion, I will remember a dream so vividly that upon waking, I feel as if I am still in the dream. But sometimes I remember details and everything but other times I completely forget what I had even dreamed.

It can be something you eat before you sleep, or the environment in your room or what you watch on television or listen to on the radio. It can be your mind working on trying to solve a problem for you, or your mom could be right, you might have something going wrong with your health.

This can also be a real problem. infact i have heard that if we consume hard to digest foods before sleep. there can be problems with sleep. Infact in the case where i have to sit night outs, I do go for such foods and they keep me awake for long. Keep a healthy diet practice and i hope your problem might subside.

Dassodils:
I was not having such an experience till recently. In your age I use to sleep well. Try to focus on some one thing like lyrics, comedy movies and then go to sleep and say you want to sleep. You will sleep well and the dream also you will forget.

That was a very good suggestion from your side Ravi. Even though we dont have the complete power top control our sleep. We can atleast help the process. Watching some good movies or reading some good books are indeed good solutions. i have heard if you are a believer in god, a prayer before sleep can also help you earn a good sleep.

I used the suggestion given by me. I saw a good comedy television show and then drank a glass of water and went to sleep. I slept very well as compared to other days.

I am happy to know that you have resolved the problem that you had with sleep. It would be nice if you can share in detail how you overcame the disorder. It would be a big help to our friend because I think she is really finding a very big trouble in getting a good sleep.

I would say you should analyse your problem with a relaxed mind. try to find a long lasting solution for it. Listening to some melodies or nice songs before you sleep would help you out. If you feel you are in some sort of depressions, then do go for some sort of counseling.

I do have dreams from time to time that do keep me from sleeping and most of the time when I have this happen it is because I've been through a lot of stress recently. Last year when my husband was going through all of his health issues was definitely the worst for me. The reason being for this is because of the fact that I had a lot on my mind and there are definitely times that it is difficult, if not impossible for me to be a positive thinker.

hi,
i am grateful because i don't have that kind of dreams and never encounter it,the reason why i can't help fall asleep in the evening because of some problems in my life and that dream,i don't think so that it because of your dream, maybe you need a relaxing time or you are stressed.

Very true to the roots indeed. I dream almost every day and most of my dreams have kept me happy. It would so weird whenever I get up after a bad dream, I just close my eyes and try to sleep again and most of the times I do get a good dream. this indeed keeps me real happy.

I went through a period like you are describing about 5 years ago. I would go to sleep at night, and within 5 minutes I was dreaming of something I did not like, but I could not recall what it was. What I did remember was that I thought I was actually awake, and yelling to my wife to wake me up, but she did not respond. I would even think I was slapping the bed and pushing at her trying to wake her up, but I was not, I was only dreaming that I was. I got so used to this routine that when it happened, I would actually tell myself that it was a dream, and I needed to wake myself up. Eventually I would wake up. What I did to stop the problem is when it happened again, I got up I took an over-the-counter sleep aid, and I would then fall asleep without that weird sensation and dream any more. Eventually the issue went away, and now it might happen once a year, and I don't take medication unless it does.
Sleep (and dreaming) is a strange thing. Our subconscious mind is allowed to "play" without the restrictions imposed upon it by our conscious mind. Basically the restraints of reality are removed when we dream.

I have definately had some bad dreams in my life but
no one has ever told me that I had health problems..
My grandmother use to say that the wierd/bad dreams
are caused by what we eat before going ro bed...I am
sure its just an old time tale/saying...
But even now when I have a strange and I mean I have some
extremely strange dreams, my daughter will say to me,
"Well what did you have to eat last night"...LOL

Even I agree with you my friend. This is the first time I hear that health issues can lead to long lasting sleep issues. I have heard about psychological reasons being an issue. I think your dreams are not weird. I mean every body have their share of dreams. But nobody have night mares every single night that they jump out of sleep every night.

Well i can understand the desperation to get more sleep as without a good sleep, health problems come like a big bang. So i would like to tell u that u spend less time watching TV or staying online before going to sleep as the things that u see often reflects in your dreams. So it is advisable to read a decent book or listen to a slow music before u go to bed. Then if you have gastric problem, then also u will have sleep disorders. So try to figure out the problem and i am sure u will have a good sleep ahead. Take care.
What say?

That was a very good suggestion from your side Subhojit. People who go to bed with a confused or stressed mind find it hard to get sleep. Then dreams might even cause problems. But the root of the problem lies in the events before sleeping.

I always try to get in a little exercise about an hour or so before I intend on sleeping. Because I have found that I get more restless in my sleep when I sort of grunge or lie around for most of the day. Oftentimes, I will have restlessness in my sleep if I am not too active and have been bored for most of the daylight hours. But the opposite is my experience whenever I stay a little active a couple hours or so before bedtime. Now of course, this is only an idea that worked for me... If you take any medications you might want to consult with your physician first before trying any of the ideas that I suggested.

I really is not in a position to generalize about that i am going to say. what I have found is that when i have a rigorous session of some outdoor sport, i do get a sound sleep and get up in a very fresh mood. I dont know if this is true in every case. But I think people should try this and if it works then that has indeed good chances of getting you good health and also giving you good sleep.

I think you used to think so much during day and specially before going to sleep. try to control your thinking and do not let in the same time many thaughts attack to your mind. I also faced like that problelm before and that was all because of thinking of this and that, I mean there is time that mind is sinking between lots of thoughts.

no sleep, because of dreams? i think if you have a sound sleep then you will be healthy, and if you feel restless then you wont get proper sleep and also all sort of dreams, so keep your mind free, with out any tensions, do some meditation, it will be useful, or else do some prayers before going to bed, or read a book of your choice or interest, this will help you a lot.I sleep very well, actually , so no problems in sleeping, as soon as i go to bed , within five minutes ,i will fell asleep, my mom says , i sleep too much, but its okay as long as we are healthy .

I thought its not your dreams that made you disturbed with your sleep.Maybe the surroundings you are sleeping at. Noise can make you awake. But I would suggest, you must got to a doctor already for check up so that you should also know if it is a health problem already.

In Psychology, it could mean that you might be troubled by something. It is also possible that there is something that you might actually have wished that you've done but was unable to.. Often, the things that bother us will not really leave us even during our sleeping hours.. I think you need to look into yourself, if needed, admit to yourself that there's something bothering you and seek help.. :) have someone to open up to who will do everything to understand you and not judge you.. Good luck! :)
