Hi guys...good morning!
The other week, I visited my friend who has been pregnant and she gave me an idea what to write today. She's been my friend since college and no doubt that she was very excellent in our class. Even me, I admire her for her brightness and intelligence in all our subjects. She was an outstanding student during our times in school. But I did not expect that it will happen to her.
She shared with me what had happened to her when we did not see each other in two years.I knew already that she went abroad because before that we were keeping in touch but when she already was there, she already had changed. Although there is a face book, I felt she became very distant and unreachable already.
She told me she fell in love with her office mate in abroad. She was blinded with her love for that guy. Although one of her colleagues told her that guy was just playing around with her and that guy has already a family in their hometown, still, according to her, she did not believe it.Now, she is pregnant. She decided to go home for she will be deported from that country if she will stay there.
I am just wondering why it did happened to her knowing that she was very smart. Or is it just her destiny?Did she think wisely?Despite what had happened,I'm still here as her friend.

My opinion about this is that since we are just human being and not perfect. We can't have it all. Most but not all of intelligent people are weak in "heart" which means when it comes to love their brilliant minds will be overpowered by their loving hearts. They can't control their feelings and just follow what their heart dictating them to do.

I agree with you Chent , that is so true , theoretically and logically speaking they are almost perfect , so brilliant indeed but when it comes to emotions , a failing grade she gets.

You're right angel, that's why I'm still thankful then that I don't have those intelligence.LOL.. aren't you thankful too? LOL... But still there are people too that are not intellectually excellent but still manifest those " Katangahan" in love.
But we are not in the position to judge them.

i heard of it tons of time! :) person who are smart are most likely dumb in terms of LOVE. hmm. i knew many cases like that and do believe about a bit. BUT, i think it does depend on the person. there are uhhmm some dull persons who are not good in LOVE too maybe the "LOVE" itself causes the person's stupidity (not literally). most people do everything for LOVE.

I think there's truth in what she said, however, it should not be generalized. I have also noticed that those who are known to be "smart" are the ones who end up in a complicated love-life. I guess it's because they're the most inexperienced when it comes to love in the first place.
Smart people are known to be studious and are not really very adventurous at times. Therefore, I guess they'll most likely not have a lot of experience when it comes to love. Not to mention that they are used to having "exact" mindsets (e.g. 1+1=2) and don't really adjust well in circumstances where they have no expertise on.
Your story reminded me of a good friend. She was engaged with a good guy, but then she was wooed by another. She left the good guy for the new guy who was adventurous because she said the good guy was "boring". She ended up getting pregnant then was married to this "adventurous" guy. I thought the happily-ever-after started there, but I guess I was wrong. He cheated on her several times, now he decided to leave her for someone else because she was "boring". Now with two kids, she works well to provide and somehow regrets leaving the "good" guy. She had double degrees and is currently working as a doctor. whew!
Have a great mylot experience ahead!

It just shows that love is blind and even the smartest of people fall under its spell. That is what happened to your friend. Now she is pregnant and broken hearted. I doubt she can get finanical help form the father of her baby and will raise it by herself. Not a good situation at all.

I know someone from here that went through the same thing that your friend is going through. Love is capable of blinding everyone, especially women. It is good that despite all this you are now supporting her and still sees her as your friend. The sad things in all this is the baby that she is carrying and the thought of her explaining to her kid is all grown up, she will have to explain everything to her child. Destiny plays trick on us all. I have also been played for a fool several times. However, I have learned my lesson the hard way.

Like they always said.. You can't have 'em all.. But the good thing is that for people who had similar experiences or may have not done so well with love, there are people like you who look out for them. :) We will always need another person to make us realize things or to make us feel good and not alone in life. :)

Hello
kokomo, wisdom is not taught in school. That´s why we are lot of intelligent people who has a college degree but we lack of wisdom
.
In some recruiting business, they are beginning to look for "emotional intelligence". But it`s wisdom what shows us the right way of life.
Me, I, Myself, I look for that wisdom in the Bible, and in the catholic church. I graduated with honors in my college, by the way, is the best of my country, but at the same time, I was being heartbroken by my 7 year boyfriend.
Since then I decided to look for wisdom. 17 years ago, I began looking for it, and still look for it.
Blessings

Hi,
I felt very sorry for your friend. Intelligence is very different from attraction. Your friend is not intelligent in handling love. She is attracted to that selfish guy. That bad guy used her for his advantage and then left her. Your friend must be emotional. She loved that selfish guy blindly. She needs support from the friends like you. You should encourage her to face the fact and she should be strong and should go ahead.

being intelligent academically doesn't assure anyone of making a mistake mostly when it comes to practicality of life, because making a wise decision is not written in any school books and not being discuss during school days, we can only learn them by experience,..

EQ is different from IQ. I think your friend is a classic example of someone with a high IQ but was not able to control her emotions. In real world, we need to have a high EQ along with our intelligence to be able to deal wisely with the situations posed before us.
