Last night when I was talking about iphone 5 and windows 8 with my brother,he asked me this question. He told me that he would wait until the new products seemed to be cheaper and more stable because new products always have some problems that will be found by early takers. I'm agree with him.It doesn't mean I dare not to try new things.I just want to make better use of my time and my money.
What do you think of that?

Your brother has a point. New products sometimes have yet to be tried and true. There more or less needs to be a timeframe in which you can allow yourself to compare something with other devices either with educated consumerism and/or expert opinions. If you have the money, you can play the new product field however you like. But, if you have the time, you may want to see how you can save your money.

The best thing for me to do is learning to look rationally at merits and demerits of the products.I have much time but not much money so I should spend more time to think it over.

Well, as for me, it depends on the product. If it is cheap and I am interested in it, I will get it at once even though I have to ask my mother for the money. However, like iphone5, I think it is not necessery to buy it immediately because we know it is very expensive at first. I agree with your brother. Just wait. But if you think to be the first owner of iphone5 is a kind of honor, I advise you to buy it right away.

I'll never think it's a kind of honor. It's true that I always want to study new things but I don't want to waste my time and money because I can do more with them.I wait and wait until it's cheaper and more stable.

No, I would think it for over 3 days. That's my general rule when buying items, this will save me from compulsive buying. If it doesn't leave my mind for 3 days, then that's final.
That's how I sort my needs and wants. Sometimes we are tempted to buy things without asking if you really need it in the first place. Please be a responsible consumer. If you have to buy it because it really saves you a lot, then ask yourself how bad the necessity is and how often do you see the deal. Companies would try to stock it again after that festive sale then release it for another 3-4 months for the off-season sale.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and happy mylotting.

I've already buy manything that I do not really need before. Thanks for sharing your method, curapika!I should try thinking over it for several days before I make a right decision.I hardly ask myself how bad the necessity is(I will ask others who have used it,or know these kind of products well) but I do observe the deals and read the comments.

I don't always buy things straight away when they're brand new, but I will admit that I did so when the iPhone 4S was released. I don't really know what came over me, but I just knew that it was something that I wanted to buy, and therefore I thought that I might as well get it on the first day that it is out. I queued up for two and a half hours on the launch day so that I could get it, and I was pleased that it was one of the best things that I had ever bought. I would make the same decision again if I had the chance to do so, but my contract wouldn't allow me to upgrade when the new one was released this year.

Anyway,it's good that you've bought one you really like and need^^you bought it without any hesitation and still love it now, that means it worth buying! But keep careful because some products are really not good for earlier taker.
have a nice day,gemmar!

I don't see the need to buy a new product if I don't need it or the old product is still working. This besides of the fact many new products don't work great at all. I think it's a waste of money to buy new stuff each time. It's also a never ending story and nobody will like you more because of that. Not even the salesman.

If my friend buy new stuff each time, though I will never hate her but will feel sad.Everybody else will think she is a girl can't live without thouse luxury.Of course my friends won't do that, neither do most people.
But if you need something, you will buy the newest version or older version,or wait until the new one have been tried and true?

I'll definitely do the same bravewoman. Especially if its not a necessity. And stuff like that depreciates easily.
It's hard to earn money. We better spend it wisely. Or else, we'll be fond of using credit cards. Or we'll always be out of budget.

Yup, that is true(fact).. that is what we called as "bugs", term for computer/technology is an error, flaw, mistake, failure, or fault in a computer program or system. Your brother is right, its obvious first release system/gadgets always are right and on the developing stage.. It's good to just buy them maybe 6 months after release or more.

I think that is a wise idea to wait for the product to sell a little cheaper. I mean, why would you be such in a hurry to buy the latest products?

yeah!If let me choose iphone 4s or 5,I'll choose the former. And I don't need new products now because I will study in Singapore soon and will have no time trying these things. When I finish my study, there might be a cheaper and more stable one!I won't waste money on them.

Hi,
I usually cling to old and tested products at my possession. Besides wasting a lot of money, the products that I have are more familiar and does not require the groping and exploring of new features that are also an utter waste of time. I would go for new products only when what I have has become unoperational and repairing it would no longer be feasible due to discontinued and obsolete parts.

It's really a nice behavior. You are a rational person!I always ask my brother if there are any tested products.Groping and exploring of new features are an utter waste of time?I never thought of that but sometimes it really makes me tired.

I can be calm sometimes when it comes to money. While i can't resist the temptation to buy things that i really had a crush on.So that situation can be depends on how much i love. For example,i got an iphone4 and it is ok for me to use and i do not try to buy 5 in a short time.

maybe youre right cause new product if you buy now seem to be high price,we must wait until the new product is become old product.and then so the price is cheap.
why we must hurry buy new product if we dont understand that product ???
