When I was still studying, I have this habit of reviewing in front of the television because I feel sleepy when I do not hear any sounds. Some students prefer listening to music or studying in complete silence. How about you? What is your studying habits?

hi,
when i was studying at high school and college i always prefer to have a review in a silent place,no television because it will surely distract my mind,so when me and my classmates have an examination we usually went to the library or in the garden to have a review.

I am distracted so easily that I have to have complete quiet. I even wait until everyone is asleep at night before I do my writing because I just can't totally concentrate. I like the quiet of the night time anyway. Crickets and owls and the twinkling stars and this full moon too.

I easily get bored whenever reading and reviewing for exams, so just like you, I got to have some other alternatives rather than the review materials with me. So even if I am not really watching, I also want to turn on my television or laptop for some surfing whenever I get tired reading and just go back to studying after some time.

Depends on the subject that I will review. When I review math I put up some music, when I study for exams that requires plenty of memorization I turn on the television set and go into a channel that's currently airing news like CNN channel, I memorize quickly when I hear newscasters having a conversation.

When I was reviewing for the board exams, I prefer to put my headsets on and listen to either Bon Jovi or Mozart. I know, weird taste. But then again, I don't think I'm normal, lol! I cannot tell for sure why I prefer listening to them when I was studying, it's just that I found out that listening to both their music then to keep me up and my mind stimulated and active.

For me it depends on the subject. I'm an English major so when I'm reading difficult passages or dense works I need silence. When I'm studying for other things I like to have music or television. Sometimes I think it helps me too because I can associate what I am doing with what I am hearing/seeing!
