What do you consider of choosing a good name? Do you like your name? Or you always ask your parents why did you name you like that. Is your name sound too antique (not to offend anybody). Or you found out that your name have a negative meaning. I believe, that we should always be careful in choosing a name, especially to our kid. Because sometimes, I dont know if its just a co-incident, that they grow up just like the meaning of their name. Even in the Bible, they give names to their child depending on how they want their child to grow up, it's like baptism in their name. My mother has a nickname before that means "being crazy", and she changed it when she knew it. Their are even weird names. I've read somewhere that a parent named their baby "@".

I know someone whose name is just "V". And I think that's the sexiest male name I've ever heard. And that's in his birth certificate! My name is an old name and I think they named me after a Ms. Universe. I wonder what that "being crazy" name is?

Oh. Yes, it's negative. So, if I meet a "Patsy" maybe I should tell her that.

Hi Gloryacam, it's "Patsy", I dont know what dictionary she learned that its being crazy. But the meaning actually, is a weak person who is easily cheated or blamed, or easily taken advantage. And fool. It's really negative.

I really never liked my real name cause so many people would confuse it with something else. Or they would relate it back to a song that my parents would sing everytime it came on...it would drive me INSANE!!! But I wont ever change it because there is a reason for its being. When it comes to naming my kids though, I want to make sure to choose a name thats sort of unique and not always heard of. Ive already chose one name that can be unisex...spencer. I think its edgy..but then again thats my opinion.

I did not like my name but i do not have any plans of changing it. But i do not want to commit the same mistake. I guess when i had to choose name for my kids someday i had to consider few things. Names i must say, best describes someones personality.

That's the least we can do. Anyway, at least we have a name. Maybe we should just know what's the meaning of our name to be aware of it. Thanks for sharing.

I think having a unique name can be good,as long as it's unique for a good reason. If you have a contrived spelling or a made-up name,it seems like your parents are illiterate.Ones that are unique due to ethnicity or language aren't bad,or if they're unique because they are old-fashioned.

I think it depends on how you view your new born child. You can find different name ideas depending on the qualities of the baby as well.

The names of my siblings and I were combination of my father and mother's name.My name sounds like a boy and I really do not like it.But my grandmother suggested my name and when I learned about it.I feel so really happy about it even if I do not like it because when I was young,my classmates teased me about my name.

But others really name their daughter that sounds boy like. And my friend wants a name that sounds like a boy too. They want people to be confused if they're interacting to a male or a female. So its some kind of a disguise.

Parents don't look at the means of the name and people don't real in to the meanings behind them. I know my name means heavely but that doesn't mean anything to me at all it doesn't say anything about who I am a name is a name regualdes of where it comes from and the orginal meaning behind it. My parents liked the name that is why they picked. Me and my brothers are named after someone in our family either our first or middle name. Me and my husband picked the name Madison because we liked the way it sounded with our last name and our son he is named after my husband they do not have the same middle name they share the same first letter as there middle name.
