A star in the east???

Exactly on my century mark of contributing discussions and responses, there appear a yellow STAR with no. 8 inside it, on top left side of my username. In my excitement and astonishment perhaps, I just kept on staring at it for 3 days every time I opened my computer. I was not able to add any discussion or comment from thereon fearing it might disappear (lol).
What could be the meaning or significance of a Star as well as their numbers and colors? Just curious...

Hello mangtony7451 my friend, that is really nice to note you have a 8star now. This star represent your overall myLot rating. There can be 1 to 10 star ratings. No it will nto disappear (I hope) but will change as your ratings improve or else. :)

Hi,
Congratulations for crossing 100. I also have star number 8. It is the number of rating by management of mylot. It never disappears but our rating or star number changes according to our work. Different colors are attached to the stars. Last number is 10 and it's star color is blue.

The 'management of myLot' have absolutely nothing to do with the star.
It is the result of ratings that other users have given to our posts.

The star represents your ranking, blue is highest color you can get, red is the second highest. The number in parenthesis is how many discussions you have contributed. Glad you are enjoying yourself here at myLot.
