I could very well remember my first boyfriend was my cousin. Although, not first but second cousin only. My parents were very indignant and furious everytime the guy try to visit me at our house not knowing he was already my boyfriend. Incidentally, my cousin, my lover, was unable to stood all the insults, trials/persecutions from my father, and he got married while I am still in my college days. All my thoughts, and yours?

hello lonelyseeker101, greetings. Your case is not so extraordinary since the guy was only a second cousin. But I could understand the reaction of your father. Even If I am on his place, I will do the same thing, because of all the guys in the world, why your relative.

wahhh that's kinda complicated :/ I haven't been in that kind of situation and hope i won't be.. But it's reality-it happens :/ But at least your parents are happy you did not end up with him. Maybe you could find a guy your parents would eventually like for you. Good luck..
BTw, have you heard of this relation, when a father and daughter who haven't met for a long time got into a rel.? :S

Hi meowchie. I think so, but I was just a teenager then. Not in the right mind perhaps, and this happened long time ago. Now I am 33 years happily married to a loving and wonderful husband, gifted with 4 children and 5 grandchildren.
And I will be praying for you too. May you meet the right guy and live happily ever after.

In our community our all cousins means our brother maternal son. paternal son all and like to make boyfriend or partner to the cousin.

I know some people like you, where they have relationships with second cousins. Not first cousins though, that's too close to be almost illegal. But depending on what the custom of the people/race is, second cousins are either legal or not. This is how I perceive things amongst my people. But I do hope you find the guy you're meant to be with as soon as you're ready :)
