How does technology positively impact social issues?

Communication technology (technology which allows for communication) has helped to revolutionize the communication process. Electronic communication, like text messages, email and social networking websites, has enabled society to become more connected.

I think it makes the world smaller, we all are able to "travel" everywhere. We get way more information in a way easier way as years ago. Even if not all the info is right and there is also plenty of nonsense on the net. You can make friends all over the world, you can be yourself, block those you don't like without any restriction. You can stay in contact with the ones you like/love. You hardly need the postman anymore, since contact is way easier/faster. You can even see eachother and hear eachother. You can e-bank, do your shoppings, and find the cheapest stuff if you take the time to do so and/or are not able to leave your house/bed. I think cyberbullying is a very small part and frequently you can walk out. If you can't you forget you are sitting behind your computer and you can leave the site, block a person or mail address or switch of the computer. Just like in real life you should not believe everything and use your common sense but also your instinct/brains who you can trust, what info you will give about yourself.

Since I live out in the country with very few neighbors it is not often that I see people. Technology has given me a way to talk to people and see pictures of what is going on in everyone's life. It is just a way to keep up with friends and family. I also use technology to attend college. With my busy schedule it would be impossible to attend a college campus so it gives me a way to better myself without changing my life around completely.
