I want to buy a new scooter for my self. I have shortlisted the one which would suit me. This have been just recently launched. I had visited the mechanic near my place to take an advice he said you should not buy any vehicle that is recently launched, wait for the review and then decide. I am a bit confused now, the company that makes these scooter is a leader two wheelers in my country and has a very good reputation. What should I do ? wait for some more time or go for another company that has established their scooter brand ?

I think there are some very good scooters around. i have a Honda Pleasure and is very good one. I also have a Activa which is like 5 years old but very nice one. there are more new models of Activa come in the market which are like best. i would recommend you to wait because we had Saphire and because of one part we did not get we had to scrap it. they had stopped producing it and parts were nowhere to be found. So go for the ones which are already doing good. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead

Actually I want to buy Hero Maestro . The reason for buying this because the service center is near to my place and I have used 2 vehicles of the company . If I won't get a satisfactory report of Maestro I would surely go for Activa.

Well it's a must for every vehicle buyer to read something about what he/she is purchasing. If you can't wait for a review have a research for it or something or ask people you think have something to say about it my dear friend. Better do your work before you regret buying something that you do not even want. Just saying. Goodluck!

I think that was sound advice from your mechanic. Buying a vehicle, even a scooter, should be prudently done. But if the necessity to buy is immediate, then waiting for a review may not be practical since these reviews sometimes come a few months after a launch of a new vehicle. Personally, I think any purchase we make entails some form of risk. That's why I try to buy products made by companies with very good reputation. Being that the scooter you had set your eyes on is manufactured by a leader in the industry, then I'd say go buy the scooter. Bank on the name of the company.

I think every brand, even not a famous or leading one, is fine. It's not said that a scooter of a leading brand or an expensive one is better as the cheapest one you can find. Since all factories have their early monday morning vehicles or late friday afternoon vehicles (so the bad produced ones). More important is if you get guarantee for example, to make a list of what you want/need (which you already did) and what you are willing to spend. If you need it buy it. A review is also only a fragment/experience of the moment with probably 1 scooter. They won't test 10.000 of the same kind.

yup wait for a review if that is the case. You might also want to know the opinions of other reviewers who have tried that newly launched scooter. Also if you rush in buying that ride you might get some problems with it that you didn't even expected and thus making you regret your purchase. So be safe by waiting for an official review first... just my opinion.

I know a mechanic who was driving a great car. He has a great motorcycle, too. Today his car and motorcycle stand in the garage. He buy himself an electric bicycle (actually, he made it alone). 38V/15Ah LiFePO4 batteries provide the range to about 100 km (motor is 3 phase, about 1KW inside the wheel). Does not have to register it (in my country). You need to think about this option also ...

If you have shortlisted the scooter which will suit you it sounds to me as though you have already adopted a systematic approach to your quest for a new scooter. They are great fun and very practical as well as they should not be too expensive to run. My advice would be to follow your heart and go ahead and buy the scooter which you have previously selected as being suitable. If the company whihch makes it is a leader in your country and had a very good reputation, then it will not wish to jeopardise this by introducing a new model which has many teething troubles.
