Guys, I just remembered something from my experience. I often encounter this kind of incident whenever I cam across with a schoolmate or friend's friend but I just can't remember their name. It is actually in the tip of my tongue but just can't say it. So i tend to just talk to them without even saying their name/s :D I feel kinda rude whenever I encounter this but I can't help to not recall their names. It's kinda funny for me though but still, i find it kinda rude of me not remembering their names while they still remember mine.
Did you guys ever encounter a situation like this?

Yup! I did a few times. And yes, i just get along with the conversation and then sometimes if I am really itching to know the name, I just ask it anyway. Then I apologize for not remembering and excuse myself for having a MEMORY GAP!

For some reason their name will always catch up to me later, but I guess that is a good way of dealing with it. Making a joke out of it can get you out of just about anything!

Well my dear, I'd be lying if I said that this has never happened to me! I am pretty good with placing a name to a face so it has only happened a few times, but I usually just don't say anything at the time. Then later while at home and it not even being a thought in my head BOOM the person's name will come to me. Then the next time I see them I will have remembered!!

True, they have already left BUT then it takes the edge off for when you run into them the next time because then you have remembered their name! Unless you forget again!

Hahaa I can just simply shout and call their names then say take care :D haha` but if they are already far, I might jot their names down in a notebook :D

:D Yes. Sometimes I'm like that too. After the long conversation without mentioning their names, when I get home or when we separate ways, I tend to remember their names (O.o) ahaha` Too late to say it coz' they already left :D

Oh yes, I assume that this is a fairly common situation. Like yourself I do not openly admit that I cannot remember their name because it may seem a little unkind. Instead I tend to carry on a conversation and hope that something significant is said to remind me. I is amazing just how long you can bluff a conversation with a little luck.
It is not just old schoolfriends, but previous work colleagues or social associates that you have not seen for a long time. Despite it being something that most people encounter at times, it can still be very embarrassing.

I agree, that's why sometimes when i encounter this kind of incident, I always look for ways that he/she can say his/her name like telling a story that he/she could mention their names :D hahaha

I never was great in remembering names, more faces but since the last years I don't remember the face either. I think I am just not that interested. If someone starts talking to me I talk back, no matter what the subject is. My kids frequently ask me afterwards: who is that person? I frequently think they know that person, a parent of one of their schoolmates or so... which is mostly not the case. I know it's possible to train to remember faces and names but to me it's not that important. Also all white people esp.with blond hair look te same to me. My husband says I can recognize people by their eyes but I quess I am just not that intersted in looking everyone in the eyes and try to remember them.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts friend :)
I see your point. Sometimes too, I don't mean to forget their faces but I tend to forget unconsciously. So whenever me meet, I don't talk to them and just go on walking :D haha~ I am so rude you think?
