Hi Friends,
All the Indians over the country will be pretty disappointed after India's exit from the T20 World cup. After 5 years India won their super eight matches by defeating Pakistan and South Africa.Rain played the devil's role for the Indian team in their first match. The bowlers found it difficult to bowl when it rained. As a result, they were crushed by the Aussies.Even though they were crushed ,they had a chance against the Pakistan team to improve their run rate. But they failed to do so.Dhoni's seven batsmen theory was successful against South Africa since they lost too many wickets earlier. They reached a decent target around 152.Indian bowlers bowled well but 121 was not good enough to stop the Proteas.Dhoni used Ashwin and Balaji after 10 overs. It was really a poor move.He must have used them after the power plays even Yuvraj's wicket of Villiers was a precious one.Instead he went with his part timers. Will the BCCI remove Mr.Cool from his captaincy?

ofcourse not.
Dont you know the conversion table?
one 50 over world cup = 2.5 T20 world cups.
since Dhoni won one 50 over world cup and a T20 world cup,it would be equal to 3.5 T20 world cups.
since Dhoni lost just 3 world cups,he still have that half world cup saving him.
you can start this discussion when dhoni loses the next world cup.
indian public is very easily satisfied.that half cup will be enough for another 2 years.

lol.no more jokes at mylot then?
he has that tag as the only other captain to win the 50 over world cup, that too after 29 years.
that usually counts for a lot.
so not many will have the guts to drop him from captaincy.
just one question.are you talking about just dropping him from captaincy or from the team?

Hi sami,
I am agree with you that Dhoni captaincy is not good, he win match because of luck and now important thing is that now no one team is unbeaten so many time India reach top ranking because of other teams poor perfomance against other teams.
yes in this tournament Dhoni make many wrong decision. Like he use irfan pathan as a opener because of it many batsmen did not get enough bowl to make score in the last over of innings and pathan waste power play also and when yuvraj and dhoni comes to bat that time only 10-12 bowls left. he use Unregular bowler before the regular bowler, its a funny thing that Rohit sharma doing his over before Ashwin and balaji, what a sence in it ? If Rohit Sharma is better than Ashwin then why need Ashwin in team ?
You cant win any tournament by like this funny decision. It is not possible to stop Like south africa team at 121. India did mistake against Aus and Pak in his mathces, They allow Aus to win very easily, even they need to atlest stop them 17-18 overs but they bowl in last like that Aus win as soon as possible and in against Pak they chase 129 runs in 17 overs after lost only 2 wicket, even they know there run rate very bad after match against Aus and they can out from tournament because of run rate. they can easily chase 129 runs agains pak in 14 overs but they play like that they have just win this match to Win T-20 world cup, so no need fast and risk.
I think India did not disorve to qualify in semi final. they don't had wish to go in semi final.

I do not think that we can put all of the blame for India exiting T-20 world cup on Dhoni. However, I think that ODI and T-20 captain should be different from the test captain. May be, we should make Gautam Gambhir or may be Zaheer Khan as Test team captain and continue with Dhoni for T-20 and ODIs. This will take away some burden and be also good for the Indian team.

I do not think that there is any need for any knee jerk reaction. I think Dhoni can take his time. The question will be whether Dhoni will retire from T20s now and make way for someone else to captain. I think people like Sehwag would probably retire from the T20 game now and youngsters like Rahane would get more of a chance. But we will have to wait and watch now.
Cheers!
Ram

hello,
i dont think that will happen. dhoni is a good captain. i know he is struggling with his batting form a little bit. but that does not mean they will remove him form captaincy. its a difficult time for team india and i know they will come out of it. and i dont think kohli should become the captain this early. this may really affect his batting. and that is one thing india cannot afford to happen. we need kohli to make runs, he is the best batsman n the sqaud right now. so i think for the time being dhoni should remain captain. that will be a good decision and lets see what happens in the future series.

lol."indian team is going through some difficult time.they will bounce back".
do you know when i saw this sentence?
when india got kicked out from 2009 edition of t20 world cup.
then when they got mauled by mendis & murali during the 2008 series.
then again when they got kicked out again from 2010 edition.
ofcourse again when they lost 8 test matches in a row.
there might be few more but i could track down everything.
Funny how team india always go through difficult times during ICC tournaments.lol

I completely agree with you. Some of the moves by Dhoni are just baffling. He said later he wanted to ensure that they at least win the match and that is why he kept ashwin for later. But, this makes no sense at all since it was of no use winning the match without the 21 run deficit. It was the right time to bowl ashwin after yuvi took a wicket. If not for some stupid captaincy from dhoni, India could have moved into the semi-finals. Also, he is not a certainty for the next 50 over world cup so it is the best chance to give the new captain a good run. Regarding the rains in the first match, everyone says dhoni is a street smart cricket but everyone saw that he could not even think that it might rain in the later part of the game. Now , he does not seem so street smart at all.

Removing Dhoni is not the solution. All captain can do is make strategies, they work sometimes and fail a few times .But overall performance of Indian team has been good ,given that the team which was send looked like collections rather than being a cohesive unit.We have to introspect that why Dhoni turned defensive, its because he hardly had enough runs to defend. In any format of game start is most important, Sehwag and Gambhir has been extremely poor ,hence in every match Indian middle order was under pressure. Sehwag has been a big failure in every series since SA 2011 tour,he has nothing to show except that 200 at Indore,if anyone has to go its him.

I do not think that Dhoni, his captaincy or the overall Indian team performance was bad in this T-20 world cup. It was a combination of big loss against the Aussies, and luck that also went against India.
However, one must analyze what went wrong in different matches and to improve upon different aspects.

Look personally , I dont like Indian team as whole but , in my views they got some great players in their side . Dhoni is a very good captain , I think BCCI should include new players in the team rather give aged more chances . I want to see Rahane and IPL gems in the Indian teams . The next person who can get captaincy rather then dhoni is kohli , but it will hamper his game ( exactly what happen with SACHIN when he gt captaincy ) , therefore , MS is perfect for this job.
