Im 25 years old and i still like to watch cartoons. Now, I am told that i shouldnt anymore because cartoons are for kids. In life we are told we have to grow up but why does growing up mean that we have toleave evrything from our child hood behind?. I still watch cartoons but not anywhere near as much as when i ws a child and I still have a stuffed cow I got when I was 6 and car I got when I was 2. I have no intention of throwing these things way, even though I have been told I should do you think that growing up means you have to leave everything behind, and should I stop watching cartoons?

Hello, misty :) I'm an adult and I still watch cartoons too. My favorites are all the Disney/Pixar cartoons, such as Toy Story and the Little Mermaid. Othesr are Spongebob Squarepants, and Ogy and the Cockroaches. I also know many friends who watch cartoons. So I don't think it's wrong for adults to watch the shows. In fact, I kinda wonder where such thinking from these people came from? Cartoons make us laugh, and laughter is always good for us, do you think so? :)

I am 63 years old and I am an avid lover of cartoons. The majority of really good films that I have seen over recent years have been animated, such as Ice Age, Shrek or Finding Nemo etcetera. I am also a great fan of Scooby Doo, along with many other television cartoons. Yes, we do have to grow up, but that does not mean that we should not continue to enjoy the things that we like. Growing up is becoming a responsible person, not a miserable old person with no sense of fun.

you are never too old for cartoons! some things are not meant to be fiven up. it's not shameful to keep momentos from childhood. certain toys actually become priceless due to the age. hold onto that car and stuffed cow. they may never be made again, give them an extra squeeze!

I am way older than you are but I still watch cartoons! I don't think we need to totally rule out all our childhood activities like watching cartoons. We, being adults do not have that much time to be spending it in front of the TV, right? We can still watch it anytime or at any age. Besides, we watch TV to relax and look for some entertainment after long hours of work. No law against it.

That is great of you. I think like you quite often. I like to reminisce about my childhood and hold onto those memories. If you feel like watching cartoons, I see nothing wrong with it. If it makes you happy, do it. The people who are telling you not to are probably just trying to get you to take life more seriously but, they don't understand that you're different and you enjoy watching kid shows. Everyone gets so uptight after a while as they get older you know; which I think is absurd. Sometimes we just need to sit back, relax and chill out. I really admire the fact that you enjoy doing the things you did as a kid as long as it doesn't interfere with your life at the moment. I really don't see anything wrong with watching cartoons as an adult. Little kids can watch the news or talks shows (most of the time) if they desire to. Cartoon shows in my opinion are a bit more entertaining and also falls on the artistic side of things.

Hey there! Honestly, No I dont think you should have to give up something that you love just because of your age, or the fact that your an "adult". When people get older they tend to look at life in a more closeminded perspective. Because were over 21 years of age now, have kids, have jobs, pay bills, yada yada...that we have to give up all the things we use to like to do before all that stuff happened. Reality check, no we dont! Were still human, and still like to enjoy the small things in life. Now in days what ever we can do to help keep the menotony down, and the happiness at a high, we look to doing. Im 20 years old and I still watch spongebob. I dont care what other people think, its something I love to watch and do in my spare time. I still skateboard, swing on swings at the park, and occasionally I will go in the toy department at walmart and mess around. that doesnt make me less of an adult, it just makes me funfilled. The same goes for you too. If anything my advice to you would be to tell those people that tell you otherwise to stop being so closeminded and relax. You keep it real :)

Just because you grow up, it doesn't mean you have to throw out those things you grew up with. Cartoons are great entertainment for me. Some of them can be watched generation after generation and still be quite amusing. You are never too old to have fun and cherish the memories of your childhood. Keep your stuffed animals and your toys. They are what made you learn to dream, imagine, and explore.

Im a grown up but I still watch cartoon and still read child stories books. I still keep my dolls and my books collection I have since I was a kid and I dont think being a grown up person its mean we have to throw anything related to our childhood moment and it doesnt mean we are being childish. I still watch my favorite cartoon although I've watched it for more than 3times. Watching cartoon is fun and stress free, I would rather watching cartoon than boring tv series with almost same theme in every channels (most of tv series/soap opera here is about money, love, rivality, etc). I like watching cartoon after a hard tiring day because the story in cartoon is simple and fun. Cartoon is not always for kids, but it can help to get some relaxation. If anyone told me not to watch cartoon anymore, I would just ignore the person. My life is mine, I do what I want, I watch what I like, if they dont like cartoon it is their problem not mine.

Hey thanks a ton for such a lovely discussion. Well i totally agree to your point. Growing up does not mean throwing up the toys or cartoon back and moving ahead but growing up means growing up in the knowledge and thinking. There is absolutely no wrong in watching cartoon at teenage in fact i too watch cartoons as much as i watched it before. Watching cartoons does not mean we are stuck up with our childhood days in fact it means that there are some things in life that we can never leave our love and affection for. What say?

For me it's a different process. Watching cartoons doesn't really tag you as a child. It's only a predisposition but there is no actual evidences that would defend with it.It's so sound defensive because personally I also watch up untill now cartoons and even fairytales.

It doesn't matter how old you are, you are never too old to watch cartoons or hold on to your toys. In fact, they even have cartoons and toys made for adults these days! ;) haha! But seriously. What your interests are have nothing to do with growing up. How you act and how you deal with life do. "Growing up" refers to your coping skills and maturity level. Not your interests, hobbies, or old things you hold on to. I'm 18 and still have all my stuffed animals. And I have stored away all my baby dolls and barbie dolls - I'm hoping to give to my daughters when I have children one day.

no i dont think so im 30 yrs old and have kids and i watch cartoons with them all the time ,,i have to asmit even when they are not there i find myself watching spongebob lol and i think its really cool you still have things from when you were younger i mean its one thing to have all kinds of stuff but if you just have a few things from your childhood then you should keep them forever and maybe pass them on to your own kids....
