Do you reuse bags?

When I go to the store, I usually forget to bring the reuseable bags. But most stores give the bags for free. I will reuse them around the house for example for the bathroom garbage. I will use these bags instead of buying bags from the store to put garbage in. Also, the hay bags from the small animals when they are done I will put the spoiled shavings, litter, and hay into it as well as using the cat food bags, and litter bags as well. My friend told me why, she buys bags from the store for her garbage, then just throws out the plastic bags that she shops with. I told her to save them up, and I will use them as I dont want to waste my money buying bags when you can get them free from the store when shopping.

I reuse almost anything I can think of. If I have too many plastic bags then I will take them back to a store that will recycle them. I do this at work as well.

I agree with you,my husband and I reuse things too. The plastic bags are good for small trash cans, wrapping things up with, their good for putting things in them when you don't have anything else to put in them. Sometimes when I have too many I'll give them to thrift stores to use.

That's exactly my thinking. Though my hubby hates me hooking bags onto knobs to use instead of buying trash bags. So I do buy trash bags but like you though I use the small ones for the can in the bathroom, I used to use them to put soiled diapers in when my kids were wearing diapers, an I have a small bin in the basemint I put the lint and debris I find in pockets in to toss out. I have a stash right now of them saved up as a Girl Scout chocolate sale orders are coming in and they work nicely to hand out peoples orders in them and sort them out. Otherwise when I have too any I just take them into work or any other store that recycles them.

since I moved my aunt has been doing the grocery shopping for me because the stores are far and I don't have transportation. If she brings plastic bags, I will put recyclable stuff in it only. It is important to keep the world from self destructing.

Now that the use of reusable bags have been implemented in our city, I now have to buy those garbage bags. I never had to buy them before coz I use the plastic bags from the mall or supermarket as garbage bags.

Recycling and re-using is very important, especially if it's with plastic. We need to do this because we are helping the environment. Also, here in our country, plastics are the reason why we experience flood. Plastics clogged on drainage, that's the culprit. So let us all re-use and recycle plastic for our nature.

i use them and then reuse them several time. although i often shop with reusable bags, i do sometimes shop at stores where they give away bags for free. i would never throw them out. like you said, that is just wasting money.

The plastic bags we keep in two jars. We don't seem to use them as much as we used to, but they used to be bathroom trash liners, and when we had cats, cat litter bags. I have the cloth reuseable bags, but sometimes forget to use them. I find going to walmart I might as well use them at the self checkout as I don't believe the cashiers appreciate having to use them when bagging our items, I've been told this more then experiencing it for myself. We do buy regular trash bags for our trash, but when it comes to small things like gathering trash from a room, we may grab one of those bags, put the trash in it then throw that in the garbage. The kids also use them when they go home, to put their dirty clothes in.

Yes, I re-use bags for all sorts of things....like wrapping up perishable rubbish, packing things away to keep them clean, when I had a cat I used them to dispose of his litter in....oh, all sorts. Sometimes I use different coloured carrier bags for different things, like I might put a batch of breaded fish into a white bag in the freezer and a batch of battered fish in a red bag so that I know them apart, as they otherwise look the same.

Well, to be honest, every time that my mother sent me to go shopping at the discount food, I carry around a large bag of fabric and very durable, because often I have to charge even bottles. I never buy plastic bags directly to the store, not so much for the 10 cents of the cost, but because, being biodegradable, have very little resistance and with the weight that I have to load, would eventually break. However at home I keep several plastic bags that I use to make the separate collection of paper and plastic. Something good for the environment

Yes I do re-use them. I take them with me to the shop plus I also use them for my garbage as well. I save a lot of money this way.

yeah i too use the bags as garbage bags. Here nowadays you don't get free plastic bags. So, now we have to carry our own bags to fill the shopping. I think it is very good though we have to take the hassle of carrying a bag around. Now most people are having tote bags and they are long lasting ones. I think it is better this way. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.
